What Mark 10:32 means
As they journeyed towards Jerusalem, Jesus walked ahead of His disciples, who were filled with amazement and fear. This mixture of awe and apprehension likely stemmed from the sense of foreboding surrounding their destination and perhaps Jesus' determined demeanor. Jesus then privately reiterates to the twelve what awaits Him there: His impending suffering, death, and resurrection.

Context
Following the general principle of the first being last, the narrative now shifts to the perilous journey to Jerusalem. This verse sets the somber mood and the specific geographical context for Jesus' third, most detailed prophecy of His passion, which immediately precedes the disciples' misguided request for positions of glory, highlighting their lack of spiritual understanding.
