About

A quiet place for scripture

Devine Scripture is a calm, distraction-free home for the Bible. No pop-ups, no autoplay videos — just scripture, set in beautiful type, ready to read whenever you need it.

We publish a fresh verse of the day, organize the famous passages people return to (Psalm 23, the Lord's Prayer, 1 Corinthians 13, the Beatitudes), and curate scripture by topic — anxiety, hope, grief, forgiveness, healing, marriage, and more.

Translations

We use the World English Bible (WEB), a modern public-domain English translation derived from the American Standard Version of 1901. The full text is in the public domain and free for anyone to read, copy, and share. Where helpful, side-by-side comparisons with other public-domain translations (such as the King James Version) are provided.

Our approach

Scripture deserves to be read, not skimmed past banner ads. We've built Devine Scripture to feel more like a well-typeset book than a content site — generous margins, careful typography, and a quiet dark mode by default.

Who writes the commentary

Devine Scripture is edited by Mohau Tshabangu, a South African Bible and theology scholar, with a small circle of trusted reviewers. Mohau personally writes and reviews every devotional, chapter introduction, topical answer, and word study published here. You can read his full background — training, ministry experience, and areas of focus — on his author profile, and see the rest of the editorial team on the editorial team page.

We don't represent a denomination. Our goal is to surface what the text actually says and how it has been read across Christian traditions, not to argue you into one camp.

Editorial standards

Every commentary page is sourced, reviewed, and dated. Our editorial policy explains how we review translations, verify cross-references, and handle sensitive pastoral topics. Our methodology page covers the day-to-day research process and how we handle AI-assisted drafts.

How we make money

Devine Scripture is free to read and free of intrusive ads. We do not sell user data. Hosting and domain costs are paid out of pocket by the founders. If you'd like to support the project, the best thing you can do is share a page that helped you with a friend.
