What Romans 16:27 means

Paul concludes by ascribing eternal glory to the only wise God through Jesus Christ. This final sentence brings the whole letter to its proper end: doxology. God alone is wise—He designed the plan of salvation that the world could not conceive—and all glory rightly returns to Him. The channel of this glory is Jesus Christ, in whom God’s wisdom and grace are manifest. The Amen seals the praise and the teaching that preceded it. Romans, having expounded the gospel, fittingly ends with worship directed to the God who authored and accomplished it.

Context

The doxology culminates the themes of Romans: God’s saving wisdom, revealed in Christ and proclaimed to the nations for the obedience of faith. After personal greetings, warnings, and promises, Paul lifts the church into the realm of praise, reminding them that theology aims at doxology. With this ascription of glory, the letter closes, binding doctrine and devotion together and sending the Roman believers forward established by God’s gospel in Christ.

v.26but now is manifested, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, is made known unto all the nations unto obedience of faith:
