1Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I gave order to the churches of Galatia, so also do ye.

1And concerning the collection that <FI>is<Fi> for the saints, as I directed to the assemblies of Galatia, so also ye--do ye;

1Now concerning the collections that are made for the saints: as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, so do ye also.

1Now about the giving of money for the saints, as I gave orders to the churches of Galatia, so do you.

2Upon the first day of the week let each one of you lay by him in store, as he may prosper, that no collections be made when I come.

2on every first <FI>day<Fi> of the week, let each one of you lay by him, treasuring up whatever he may have prospered, that when I may come then collections may not be made;

2On the first day of the week, let every one of you put apart with himself, laying up what it shall well please him: that when I come, the collections be not then to be made.

2On the first day of the week, let every one of you put by him in store, in measure as he has done well in business, so that it may not be necessary to get money together when I come.

3And when I arrive, whomsoever ye shall approve, them will I send with letters to carry your bounty unto Jerusalem:

3and whenever I may come, whomsoever ye may approve, through letters, these I will send to carry your favour to Jerusalem;

3And when I shall be with you, whomsoever you shall approve by letters, them will I send to carry your grace to Jerusalem.

3And when I come, I will send the men of your selection with letters to take the money you have got together to Jerusalem.

4and if it be meet for me to go also, they shall go with me.

4and if it be meet for me also to go, with me they shall go.

4And if it be meet that I also go, they shall go with me.

4And if it is possible for me to go there, they will go with me.

5But I will come unto you, when I shall have passed through Macedonia; for I pass through Macedonia;

5And I will come unto you, when I pass through Macedonia--for Macedonia I do pass through--

5Now I will come to you, when I shall have passed through Macedonia. For I shall pass through Macedonia.

5But I will come to you after I have gone through Macedonia, for that is my purpose;

6but with you it may be that I shall abide, or even winter, that ye may set me forward on my journey whithersoever I go.

6and with you, it may be, I will abide, or even winter, that ye may send me forward whithersoever I go,

6And with you perhaps I shall abide, or even spend the winter: that you may bring me on my way whithersoever I shall go.

6But I may be with you for a time, or even for the winter, so that you may see me on my way, wherever I go.

7For I do not wish to see you now by the way; for I hope to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.

7for I do not wish to see you now in the passing, but I hope to remain a certain time with you, if the Lord may permit;

7For I will not see you now by the way: for I trust that I shall abide with you some time, if the Lord permit.

7For it is not my desire to see you now, on my way; because it is my hope to be with you for some time, if that is the Lord's pleasure.

8But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost;

8and I will remain in Ephesus till the Pentecost,

8But I will tarry at Ephesus, until Pentecost.

8But I will be at Ephesus till Pentecost;

9for a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

9for a door to me hath been opened--great and effectual--and withstanders <FI>are<Fi> many.

9For a great door and evident is opened unto me: and many adversaries.

9For a great and important door there is open to me, and there are a number of people against me.

10Now if Timothy come, see that he be with you without fear; for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do:

10And if Timotheus may come, see that he may become without fear with you, for the work of the Lord he doth work, even as I,

10Now if Timothy come, see that he be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.

10Now if Timothy comes, see that he is with you without fear; because he is doing the Lord's work, even as I am:

11let no man therefore despise him. But set him forward on his journey in peace, that he may come unto me: for I expect him with the brethren.

11no one, then, may despise him; and send ye him forward in peace, that he may come to me, for I expect him with the brethren;

11Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct ye him on his way in peace, that he may come to me. For I look for him with the brethren.

11See then that he has the honour which is right. But send him on his way in peace, so that he may come to me: for I am looking for him with the brothers.

12But as touching Apollos the brother, I besought him much to come unto you with the brethren: and it was not at all his will to come now; but he will come when he shall have opportunity.

12and concerning Apollos our brother, much I did entreat him that he may come unto you with the brethren, and it was not at all <FI>his<Fi> will that he may come now, and he will come when he may find convenient.

12And touching our brother Apollo, I give you to understand that I much entreated him to come unto you with the brethren: and indeed it was not his will at all to come at this time. But he will come when he shall have leisure.

12But as for Apollos, the brother, I had a great desire for him to come to you with the brothers, but it was not his pleasure to come now; but he will come when he has a chance.

13Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

13Watch ye, stand in the faith; be men, be strong;

13Watch ye: stand fast in the faith: do manfully and be strengthened.

13Be on the watch, unmoved in the faith, and be strong like men.

14Let all that ye do be done in love.

14let all your things be done in love.

14Let all your things be done in charity.

14Let all you do be done in love.

15Now I beseech you, brethren (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have set themselves to minister unto the saints),

15And I entreat you, brethren, ye have known the household of Stephanas, that it is the first-fruit of Achaia, and to the ministration to the saints they did set themselves--

15And I beseech you, brethren, you know the house of Stephanus, and of Fortunatus, and of Achaicus, that they are the firstfruits of Achaia, and have dedicated themselves to the ministry of the saints:

15Now I make my request to you, my brothers, for you have knowledge that the house of Stephanas is the first-fruits of Achaia, and that they have made themselves the servants of the saints,

16that ye also be in subjection unto such, and to every one that helpeth in the work and laboreth.

16that ye also be subject to such, and to every one who is working with <FI>us<Fi> and labouring;

16That you also be subject to such and to every one that worketh with us and laboureth.

16That you put yourselves under such, and under everyone who is helping the Lord's work.

17And I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they supplied.

17and I rejoice over the presence of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus, because the lack of you did these fill up;

17And I rejoice in the presence of Stephanus and Fortunatus and Achaicus: because that which was wanting on your part, they have supplied.

17And I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for they have done what was needed to make your work complete.

18For they refreshed my spirit and yours: acknowledge ye therefore them that are such.

18for they did refresh my spirit and yours; acknowledge ye, therefore, those who <FI>are<Fi> such.

18For they have refreshed both my spirit and yours. Know them, therefore, that are such.

18For they gave comfort to my spirit and to yours: for which cause give respect to such people.

19The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Prisca salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

19Salute you do the assemblies of Asia; salute you much in the Lord do Aquilas and Priscilla, with the assembly in their house;

21The salutation of <FI>me<Fi> Paul with my hand;

21The salutation of me Paul, with my own hand.

21I, Paul, send you these words of love in my writing.

23The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ <FI>is<Fi> with you;

23The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

23The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

24My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

24my love <FI>is<Fi> with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

24My charity be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

24My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. So be it.
