What Mark 8:20 means
Jesus then reminded them of the more recent feeding of the four thousand, again asking how many baskets of leftovers they collected. Their reply, "Seven," further underscored the consistent nature of His miraculous ability to provide beyond measure. By having them recall both instances, Jesus aimed to make them realize that their concern over one loaf was utterly misplaced, given His demonstrated power to create abundance from scarcity.

Context
This verse continues Jesus' pattern of reminding the disciples of His prior miracles. It immediately follows the reminder of the five thousand fed and directly precedes His exasperated question about their understanding, aiming to draw a clear connection between His power and their present anxiety over bread.
