What Mark 4:22 means

Jesus declared that anything currently hidden or secret is ultimately destined to be revealed and brought to light. This truth applies to the mysteries of the Kingdom that He is now explaining privately to His disciples. The implication is that these truths are not to remain exclusive but will eventually be openly manifested either through the disciples' proclamation or by God's unfolding plan. Truth cannot forever be suppressed.

Context

This verse elaborates on the principle introduced by the lamp analogy. It follows the rhetorical question about hiding a lamp and precedes an exhortation to listen carefully. This statement reinforces the idea that the truths of the Kingdom, currently revealed in parables and private explanations, have an ultimate purpose of being made manifest, hinting at the future mission of the disciples to spread these truths.

v.21And he said unto them, Is the lamp brought to be put under the bushel, or under the bed, and not to be put on the stand?

v.22This passage

v.23If any man hath ears to hear, let him hear.
