Jesus promised His disciples an extraordinary future reward: 'ye who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.' Context

This verse provides Jesus's direct and grand answer to Peter's question about the disciples' reward in verse 27. It offers a glorious vision of future authority and honor in the 'regeneration' (a new creation), specifically for the twelve, contrasting with the rich young ruler's loss and setting the stage for more general promises to all who sacrifice for the Kingdom.

v.27Then answered Peter and said unto him, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee; what then shall we have?

v.28This passage

v.29And every one that hath left houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit eternal life.
