Exodus 6

1And Jehovah said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for by a strong hand shall he let them go, and by a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

1And the Lord said to Moses: Now thou shalt see what I will do to Pharao: for by a mighty hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he cast them out of his land.

1And the Lord said to Moses, Now you will see what I am about to do to Pharaoh; for by a strong hand he will be forced to let them go, driving them out of his land because of my outstretched arm.

1And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Now dost thou see that which I do to Pharaoh, for with a strong hand he doth send them away, yea, with a strong hand he doth cast them out of his land.'

2And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am Jehovah:

2And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: I am the Lord

2And God said to Moses, I am Yahweh:

2And God speaketh unto Moses, and saith unto him, `I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah,

3and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Jehovah I was not known to them.

3That appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty: and my name ADONAI I did not shew them.

3I let myself be seen by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God, the Ruler of all; but they had no knowledge of my name Yahweh.

3and I appear unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty; as to My name Jehovah, I have not been known to them;

4And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, wherein they sojourned.

4And I made a covenant with them, to give them the land of Chanaan, the land of their pilgrimage wherein they were strangers.

4And I made an agreement with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their wanderings.

4and also I have established My covenant with them, to give to them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, wherein they have sojourned;

5And moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.

5I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, wherewith the Egyptians have oppressed them: and I have remembered my covenant.

5And truly my ears are open to the cry of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep under their yoke; and I have kept in mind my agreement.

5and also I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians are causing to serve, and I remember My covenant.

6Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am Jehovah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments:

6Therefore say to the children of Israel: I am the Lord who will bring you out from the work-prison of the Egyptians, and will deliver you from bondage: and redeem you with a high arm, and great judgments.

6Say then to the children of Israel, I am Yahweh, and I will take you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians, and make you safe from their power, and will make you free by the strength of my arm after great punishments.

6`Therefore say to the sons of Israel, I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah, and I have brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and have delivered you from their service, and have redeemed you by a stretched-out arm, and by great judgments,

7and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah your God, who bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

7And I will take you to myself for my people, I will be your God: and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from the work-prison of the Egyptians:

7And I will take you to be my people and I will be your God; and you will be certain that I am the Lord your God, who takes you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.

7and have taken you to Me for a people, and I have been to you for God, and ye have known that I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah your God, who is bringing you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians;

8And I will bring you in unto the land which I sware to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for a heritage: I am Jehovah.

8And brought you into the land, concerning which I lifted up my hand to give it to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: and I will give it you to possess: I am the Lord.

8And I will be your guide into the land which I made an oath to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for your heritage: I am Yahweh.

8and I have brought you in unto the land which I have lifted up My hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and have given it to you--a possession; I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah.'

9And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

9And Moses told all this to the children of Israel: but they did not hearken to him, for anguish of spirit, and most painful work.

9And Moses said these words to the children of Israel, but they gave no attention to him, because of the grief of their spirit and the cruel weight of their work.

9And Moses speaketh so unto the sons of Israel, and they hearkened not unto Moses, for anguish of spirit, and for harsh service.

10And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

10And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

10And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

11Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

11Go in, and speak to Pharao king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

11Go in and say to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, that he is to let the children of Israel go out of his land.

11`Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he doth send the sons of Israel out of his land;

12And Moses spake before Jehovah, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?

12Moses answered before the Lord: Behold the children of Israel do not hearken to me: and how will Pharao hear me, especially as I am of uncircumcised lips?

12And Moses, answering the Lord, said, See, the children of Israel will not give ear to me; how then will Pharaoh give ear to me, whose lips are unclean?

12and Moses speaketh before Jehovah, saying, `Lo, the sons of Israel have not hearkened unto me, and how doth Pharaoh hear me, and I of uncircumcised lips?'

13And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

13And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, and he gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharao the king of Egypt, that they should bring forth the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

13And the word of the Lord came to Moses and Aaron, with orders for the children of Israel and for Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to take the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

13And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and chargeth them for the sons of Israel, and for Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt.

14These are the heads of their fathers’ houses. The sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.

14These are the heads of their houses by their families. The sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel: Henoch and Phallu, Hesron and Charmi.

14These are the heads of their fathers' families: the sons of Reuben the oldest son of Israel: Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi: these are the families of Reuben.

14These <FI>are<Fi> heads of the house of their fathers: Sons of Reuben first-born of Israel <FI>are<Fi> Hanoch, and Phallu, Hezron, and Carmi: these <FI>are<Fi> families of Reuben.

15And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman; these are the families of Simeon.

15These are the kindreds of Ruben. The sons of Simeon, Jamuel and Jamin, and Ahod, and Jachin, and Soar, and Saul the son of a Chanaanitess: these are the families of Simeon.

15And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar and Shaul, the son of a woman of Canaan: these are the families of Simeon.

15And sons of Simeon <FI>are<Fi> Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul, son of the Canaanitess: these <FI>are<Fi> families of Simeon.

16And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were a hundred thirty and seven years.

16And these are the names of the sons of Levi by their kindreds: Gerson, and Caath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Levi were a hundred and thirty-seven.

16And these are the names of the sons of Levi in the order of their generations: Gershon and Kohath and Merari: and the years of Levi's life were a hundred and thirty-seven.

16And these <FI>are<Fi> the names of the sons of Levi, as to their births: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi <FI>are<Fi> a hundred and thirty and seven years.

17The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.

17The sons of Gerson: Lobni and Semei, by their kindreds.

17The sons of Gershon <FI>are<Fi> Libni, and Shimi, as to their families.

18And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were a hundred thirty and three years.

18The sons of Caath: Amram, and Isaar, and Hebron and Oziel. And the years of Caath's life, were a hundred and thirty-three.

18And the sons of Kohath: Amram and Izhar and Hebron and Uzziel: and the years of Kohath's life were a hundred and thirty-three.

18And the sons of Kohath <FI>are<Fi> Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath <FI>are<Fi> a hundred and thirty and three years.

19And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.

19The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi. These are the kindreds of Levi by their families.

19And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi: these are the families of the Levites, in the order of their generations.

19And the sons of Merari <FI>are<Fi> Mahli and Mushi: these <FI>are<Fi> families of Levi, as to their births.

20And Amram took him Jochebed his father’s sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty and seven years.

20And Amram took to wife Jochabed his aunt by the father's side: and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of Amram's life, were a hundred and thirty-seven.

20And Amram took Jochebed, his father's sister, as wife; and she gave birth to Aaron and Moses: and the years of Amram's life were a hundred and thirty-seven.

20And Amram taketh Jochebed his aunt to himself for a wife, and she beareth to him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram <FI>are<Fi> a hundred and thirty and seven years.

21And the sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.

21The sons also of Isaar: Core, and Nepheg, and Zechri.

21And the sons of Izhar: Korah and Nepheg and Zichri.

21And sons of Izhar <FI>are<Fi> Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.

22And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri.

22The sons also of Oziel: Mizael, and Elizaphan, and Sethri.

22And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael and Elzaphan and Sithri.

22And sons of Uzziel <FI>are<Fi> Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri.

23And Aaron took him Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, to wife; and she bare him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

23And Aaron took to wife Elizabeth the daughter of Aminadab, sister of Nahason, who bore him Nadab, and Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

23And Aaron took as his wife Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon; and she gave birth to Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

23And Aaron taketh Elisheba daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to himself for a wife, and she beareth to him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

24And the sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.

24The sons also of Core: Aser, and Elcana, and Abiasaph. These are the kindreds of the Corites.

24And the sons of Korah: Assir and Elkanah and Abiasaph: these are the families of the Korahites.

24And sons of Korah <FI>are<Fi> Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these <FI>are<Fi> families of the Korhite.

25And Eleazar Aaron’s son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites according to their families.

25But Eleazar the son of Aaron took a wife of the daughters of Phutiel: and she bore him Phinees. These are the heads of the Levitical families by their kindreds.

25And Eleazar, Aaron's son, took as his wife one of the daughters of Putiel; and she gave birth to Phinehas. These are the heads of the families of the Levites, in the order of their families.

25And Eleazar, Aaron's son, hath taken to him <FI>one<Fi> of the daughters of Putiel for a wife to himself, and she beareth to him Phinehas: these <FI>are<Fi> heads of the fathers of the Levites, as to their families.

26These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom Jehovah said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts.

26These are Aaron and Moses, whom the Lord commanded to bring forth the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their companies.

26These are the same Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said, Take the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt in their armies.

26This <FI>is<Fi> Aaron--and Moses--to whom Jehovah said, `Bring ye out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, by their hosts;'

27These are they that spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.

27These are they that speak to Pharao, king of Egypt, in order to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron,

27These are the men who gave orders to Pharaoh to let the children of Israel go out of Egypt: these are the same Moses and Aaron.

27these are they who are speaking unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the sons of Israel from Egypt, this <FI>is<Fi> Moses--and Aaron.

28And it came to pass on the day when Jehovah spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt,

28In the day when the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt.

28And on the day when the word of the Lord came to Moses in the land of Egypt,

28And it cometh to pass in the day of Jehovah's speaking unto Moses in the land of Egypt,

29that Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, I am Jehovah: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak unto thee.

29And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: I am the Lord; speak thou to Pharao, king of Egypt, all that I say to thee.

29The Lord said to Moses, I am the Lord: say to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, everything I am saying to you.

29that Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying, `I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I am speaking unto thee.'

30And Moses said before Jehovah, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?

30And Moses said before the Lord: Lo I am of uncircumcised lips, how will Pharao hear me?

30And Moses said to the Lord, My lips are unclean; how is it possible that Pharaoh will give me a hearing?

30And Moses saith before Jehovah, `Lo, I <FI>am<Fi> of uncircumcised lips, and how doth Pharaoh hearken unto me?'
