What Acts 4:11 means

Peter then applied a prophecy from Psalm 118:22 to Jesus, identifying Him as "the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner." He accused the Jewish leaders, the 'builders' of Israel, of rejecting Jesus, the essential stone upon which God's new spiritual house would be built. Despite their rejection, God had exalted Jesus to the position of supreme importance and authority, making Him indispensable to salvation.

Context

This verse expands on Peter's declaration by employing a powerful Old Testament prophecy, clearly identifying the Sanhedrin as those who rejected Jesus. It immediately follows the naming of Jesus as the healer, tying the specific miracle to a larger redemptive plan. This prophetic reference strengthens Peter's theological argument, demonstrating Jesus' rightful place as central to God's ultimate design, despite human opposition.

v.10be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even in him doth this man stand here before you whole.

v.11This passage

v.12And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.
