What Titus 1:10 means

Paul warns that many are rebellious, talkers without substance, and deceivers—especially among those insisting on circumcision and law observance as necessary. Their words do not submit to apostolic teaching; they stir unrest and mislead consciences. Empty talk can sound impressive, but it lacks the power of the gospel and leads people astray. The mention of the circumcision group points to legalistic pressures that add human requirements to God’s grace in Christ. Such teaching undermines the freedom and purity of the gospel. Titus must recognize these patterns and prepare to confront them with clarity and courage for the sake of the church.
