1There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.

1There is, then, now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit;

1For this cause those who are in Christ Jesus will not be judged as sinners.

2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

2for the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus did set me free from the law of the sin and of the death;

2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

3for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did condemn the sin in the flesh,

3For what the law was not able to do because it was feeble through the flesh, God, sending his Son in the image of the evil flesh, and as an offering for sin, gave his decision against sin in the flesh:

4that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

4that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

4So that what was ordered by the law might be done in us, who are living, not in the way of the flesh, but in the way of the Spirit.

5For they that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

5For those who are according to the flesh, the things of the flesh do mind; and those according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit;

5For those who are living in the way of the flesh give their minds to the things of the flesh, but those who go in the way of the Spirit, to the things of the Spirit.

6For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:

6for the mind of the flesh <FI>is<Fi> death, and the mind of the Spirit--life and peace;

6For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:

7because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be:

7Because the mind of the flesh is opposite to God; it is not under the law of God, and is not able to be:

8and they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

8So that those who are in the flesh are not able to give pleasure to God.

9But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

9And ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God doth dwell in you; and if any one hath not the Spirit of Christ--this one is not His;

9You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God is in you. But if any man has not the Spirit of Christ he is not one of his.

10And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness.

10and if Christ <FI>is<Fi> in you, the body, indeed, <FI>is<Fi> dead because of sin, and the Spirit <FI>is<Fi> life because of righteousness,

10And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

11and if the Spirit of Him who did raise up Jesus out of the dead doth dwell in you, He who did raise up the Christ out of the dead shall quicken also your dying bodies, through His Spirit dwelling in you.

11But if the Spirit of him who made Jesus come again from the dead is in you, he who made Christ Jesus come again from the dead will in the same way, through his Spirit which is in you, give life to your bodies which now are under the power of death.

12So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh:

12So, then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh;

12So then, my brothers, we are in debt, not to the flesh to be living in the way of the flesh:

13for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

13for if according to the flesh ye do live, ye are about to die; and if, by the Spirit, the deeds of the body ye put to death, ye shall live;

13For if you go in the way of the flesh, death will come on you; but if by the Spirit you put to death the works of the body, you will have life.

14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

14for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God;

14And all those who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

15For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

15for ye did not receive a spirit of bondage again for fear, but ye did receive a spirit of adoption in which we cry, `Abba--Father.'

15For you did not get the spirit of servants again to put you in fear, but the spirit of sons was given to you, by which we say, Abba, Father.

16The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God:

16The Spirit himself doth testify with our spirit, that we are children of God;

16The Spirit is witness with our spirit that we are children of God:

17and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.

17and if children, also heirs, heirs, indeed, of God, and heirs together of Christ--if, indeed, we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.

17And if we are children, we have a right to a part in the heritage; a part in the things of God, together with Christ; so that if we have a part in his pain, we will in the same way have a part in his glory.

18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward.

18I am of the opinion that there is no comparison between the pain of this present time and the glory which we will see in the future.

19For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God.

19for the earnest looking out of the creation doth expect the revelation of the sons of God;

19For the strong desire of every living thing is waiting for the revelation of the sons of God.

20For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but by reason of him who subjected it, in hope

20for to vanity was the creation made subject--not of its will, but because of Him who did subject <FI>it<Fi> --in hope,

20For every living thing was put under the power of change, not by its desire, but by him who made it so, in hope

21that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.

21that also the creation itself shall be set free from the servitude of the corruption to the liberty of the glory of the children of God;

21That all living things will be made free from the power of death and will have a part with the free children of God in glory.

22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

22for we have known that all the creation doth groan together, and doth travail in pain together till now.

22For we are conscious that all living things are weeping and sorrowing in pain together till now.

23And not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for our adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

23And not only <FI>so<Fi> , but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting--the redemption of our body;

23And not only so, but we who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we have sorrow in our minds, waiting for the time when we will take our place as sons, that is, the salvation of our bodies.

24For in hope were we saved: but hope that is seen is not hope: for who hopeth for that which he seeth?

24for in hope we were saved, and hope beheld is not hope; for what any one doth behold, why also doth he hope for <FI>it<Fi> ?

24For our salvation is by hope: but hope which is seen is not hope: for who is hoping for what he sees?

25But if we hope for that which we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

25and if what we do not behold we hope for, through continuance we expect <FI>it<Fi> .

25But if we have hope for that which we see not, then we will be able to go on waiting for it.

26And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered;

26And, in like manner also, the Spirit doth help our weaknesses; for, what we may pray for, as it behoveth <FI>us<Fi> , we have not known, but the Spirit himself doth make intercession for us with groanings unutterable,

26And in the same way the Spirit is a help to our feeble hearts: for we are not able to make prayer to God in the right way; but the Spirit puts our desires into words which are not in our power to say;

27and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

27and He who is searching the hearts hath known what <FI>is<Fi> the mind of the Spirit, because according to God he doth intercede for saints.

27And he who is the searcher of hearts has knowledge of the mind of the Spirit, because he is making prayers for the saints in agreement with the mind of God.

28And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.

28And we have known that to those loving God all things do work together for good, to those who are called according to purpose;

28And we are conscious that all things are working together for good to those who have love for God, and have been marked out by his purpose.

29For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren:

29because whom He did foreknow, He also did fore-appoint, conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be first-born among many brethren;

29Because those of whom he had knowledge before they came into existence, were marked out by him to be made like his Son, so that he might be the first among a band of brothers:

30and whom he foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

30and whom He did fore-appoint, these also He did call; and whom He did call, these also He declared righteous; and whom He declared righteous, these also He did glorify.

30And those who were marked out by him were named; and those who were named were given righteousness; and to those to whom he gave righteousness, in the same way he gave glory.

31What then shall we say to these things? If Godisfor us, whoisagainst us?

31What, then, shall we say unto these things? if God <FI>is<Fi> for us, who <FI>is<Fi> against us?

31What may we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?

32He who indeed His own Son did not spare, but for us all did deliver him up, how shall He not also with him the all things grant to us?

32He who did not keep back his only Son, but gave him up for us all, will he not with him freely give us all things?

33Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth;

33Who shall lay a charge against the choice ones of God? God <FI>is<Fi> He that is declaring righteous,

33Who will say anything against the saints of God? It is God who makes us clear from evil;

34who is he that condemneth? It is Christ Jesus that died, yea rather, that was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

34who <FI>is<Fi> he that is condemning? Christ <FI>is<Fi> He that died, yea, rather also, was raised up; who is also on the right hand of God--who also doth intercede for us.

34Who will give a decision against us? It is Christ Jesus who not only was put to death, but came again from the dead, who is now at the right hand of God, taking our part.

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

35Who shall separate us from the love of the Christ? tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

35Who will come between us and the love of Christ? Will trouble, or pain, or cruel acts, or the need of food or of clothing, or danger, or the sword?

36Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

36(according as it hath been written--`For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long, we were reckoned as sheep of slaughter,')

36As it is said in the holy Writings, Because of you we are put to death every day; we are like sheep ready for destruction.

37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

37but in all these we more than conquer, through him who loved us;

37But we are able to overcome all these things and more through his love.

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

38For I am certain that not death, or life, or angels, or rulers, or things present, or things to come, or powers,

39nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

39nor things about to be, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of god, that <FI>is<Fi> in Christ Jesus our Lord.

39Or things on high, or things under the earth, or anything which is made, will be able to come between us and the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
