1Unto the end, a psalm for David, to bring to remembrance that the Lord saved him.
1Save me, O God; For the waters are come in unto my soul.
1To the Overseer. --`On the Lilies,' by David. Save me, O God, for come have waters unto the soul.
1 Be my saviour, O God; because the waters have come in, even to my neck.
2O God, come to my assistance; O Lord, make haste to help me.
2I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.
2I have sunk in deep mire, And there is no standing, I have come into the depths of the waters, And a flood hath overflown me.
2My feet are deep in the soft earth, where there is no support; I have come into deep waters, the waves are flowing over me.
3Let them be confounded and ashamed that seek my soul:
3I am weary with my crying; my throat is dried: Mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
3I have been wearied with my calling, Burnt hath been my throat, Consumed have been mine eyes, waiting for my God.
3I am tired with my crying; my throat is burning: my eyes are wasted with waiting for my God.
4Let them be turned backward, and blush for shame that desire evils to me: Let them be presently turned away blushing for shame that say to me: 'Tis well, 'tis well.
4They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: They that would cut me off, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: That which I took not away I have to restore.
4Those hating me without cause Have been more than the hairs of my head, Mighty have been my destroyers, My lying enemies, That which I took not away--I bring back.
4Those who have hate for me without cause are greater in number than the hairs of my head; those who are against me, falsely desiring my destruction, are very strong; I gave back what I had not taken away.
5Let all that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee; and let such as love thy salvation say always: The Lord be magnified.
5O God, thou knowest my foolishness; And my sins are not hid from thee.
5O God, Thou--Thou hast known Concerning my overturn, And my desolations from Thee have not been hid.
5O God, you see how foolish I am; and my wrongdoing is clear to you.
6But I am needy and poor; O God, help me. Thou art my helper and my deliverer: O Lord, make no delay.
6Let not them that wait for thee be put to shame through me, O Lord Jehovah of hosts: Let not those that seek thee be brought to dishonor through me, O God of Israel.
6Let not those waiting on Thee be ashamed because of me, O Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Let not those seeking Thee Blush because of me, O God of Israel.
6Let not those who have hope in you be put to shame because of me, O Lord God of armies: let not those who are waiting for you be made low because of me, O God of Israel.
