1To the Overseer with stringed instruments, on the octave. --A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, in Thine anger reprove me not, Nor in Thy fury chastise me.
1Unto the end, in verses, a psalm for David, for the octave.
1 Jehovah, rebuke me not in thine anger, and chasten me not in thy hot displeasure.
1O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2Favour me, O Jehovah, for I <FI>am<Fi> weak, Heal me, O Jehovah, For troubled have been my bones,
2O Lord, rebuke me not in thy indignation, nor chastise me in thy wrath.
2 Be gracious unto me, Jehovah, for I am withered; Jehovah, heal me, for my bones tremble.
2Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
3And my soul hath been troubled greatly, And Thou, O Jehovah, till when?
3Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak: heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.
3 And my soul trembleth exceedingly: and thou, Jehovah, till how long?
3My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long?
4Turn back, O Jehovah, draw out my soul, Save me for Thy kindness' sake.
4And my soul is troubled exceedingly: but thou, O Lord, how long?
4 Return, Jehovah, free my soul; save me for thy loving-kindness' sake.
4Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.
5For there is not in death Thy memorial, In Sheol, who doth give thanks to Thee?
5Turn to me, O Lord, and deliver my soul: O save me for thy mercy's sake.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee; in Sheol who shall give thanks unto thee?
5For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
6I have been weary with my sighing, I meditate through all the night <FI>on<Fi> my bed, With my tear my couch I waste.
6For there is no one in death, that is mindful of thee: and who shall confess to thee in hell?
6 I am wearied with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I dissolve my couch with my tears.
6I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.
7Old from provocation is mine eye, It is old because of all mine adversaries,
7I have laboured in my groanings, every night I will wash my bed: I will water my couch with my tears.
7 Mine eye wasteth away through grief; it hath grown old because of all mine oppressors.
7Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.
8Turn from me all ye workers of iniquity, For Jehovah heard the voice of my weeping,
8My eye is troubled through indignation: I have grown old amongst all my enemies.
8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for Jehovah hath heard the voice of my weeping.
8Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.
9Jehovah hath heard my supplication, Jehovah my prayer receiveth.
9Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity: for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.
9 Jehovah hath heard my supplication; Jehovah receiveth my prayer.
9The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.
10Ashamed and troubled greatly are all mine enemies, They turn back--ashamed <FI>in<Fi> a moment!
10The Lord hath heard my supplication: the Lord hath received my prayer.
10 All mine enemies shall be ashamed and tremble exceedingly; they will turn, they will be ashamed suddenly.
10Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
