1Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not irksome, but for you it is safe.
1For the rest, my brethren, rejoice in [the] Lord: to write the same things to you, to me [is] not irksome, and for you safe.
1As to the rest, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord; the same things to write to you to me indeed is not tiresome, and for you <FI>is<Fi> sure;
2Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the concision:
2See to dogs, see to evil workmen, see to the concision.
2look to the dogs, look to the evil-workers, look to the concision;
3for we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh:
3For we are the circumcision, who worship by [the] Spirit ofGod, and boast in Christ Jesus, and do not trust in flesh.
3for we are the circumcision, who by the Spirit are serving God, and glorying in Christ Jesus, and in flesh having no trust,
4though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh: if any other man thinketh to have confidence in the flesh, I yet more:
4Though I have [my] trust even in flesh; if any other think to trust in flesh, I rather:
4though I also have <FI>cause of<Fi> trust in flesh. If any other one doth think to have trust in flesh, I more;
5circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
5as to circumcision, [I received it] the eighth day; of [the] race of Israel, of [the] tribe of Benjamin, Hebrew of Hebrews; as to [the] law, a Pharisee;
5circumcision on the eighth day! of the race of Israel! of the tribe of Benjamin! a Hebrew of Hebrews! according to law a Pharisee!
6as touching zeal, persecuting the church; as touching the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless.
6as to zeal, persecuting the assembly; as to righteousness which [is] in [the] law, found blameless;
6according to zeal persecuting the assembly! according to righteousness that is in law becoming blameless!
7Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.
7but what things were gain to me these I counted, on account of Christ, loss.
7But what things were to me gains, these I have counted, because of the Christ, loss;
8Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,
8But surely I count also all things to be loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all, and count them to be filth, that I may gain Christ;
8yes, indeed, and I count all things to be loss, because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom of the all things I suffered loss, and do count them to be refuse, that Christ I may gain, and be found in him,
9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:
9and that I may be found in him, not having my righteousness, which [would be] on the principle of law, but that which is by faith of Christ, the righteousness which [is] ofGod through faith,
9not having my righteousness, which <FI>is<Fi> of law, but that which <FI>is<Fi> through faith of Christ--the righteousness that is of God by the faith,
10that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death;
10to know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,
10to know him, and the power of his rising again, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,
11if by any means I may attain unto the resurrection from the dead.
11if any way I arrive at the resurrection from among [the] dead.
11if anyhow I may attain to the rising again of the dead.
12Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may lay hold on that for which also I was laid hold on by Christ Jesus.
12Not that I have already obtained [the prize], or am already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may get possession [of it], seeing that also I have been taken possession of by Christ [Jesus].
12Not that I did already obtain, or have been already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by the Christ Jesus;
13Brethren, I count not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before,
13Brethren, I do not count to have got possession myself; but one thing — forgetting the things behind, and stretching out to the things before,
13brethren, I do not reckon myself to have laid hold; and one thing--the things behind indeed forgetting, and to the things before stretching forth--
14I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
14I pursue, [looking] towards [the] goal, for the prize of the calling on high ofGod in Christ Jesus.
14to the mark I pursue for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, this also shall God reveal unto you:
15As many therefore as [are] perfect, let us be thus minded; and if ye are any otherwise minded, this alsoGod shall reveal to you.
15As many, therefore, as <FI>are<Fi> perfect--let us think this, and if <FI>in<Fi> anything ye think otherwise, this also shall God reveal to you,
16only, whereunto we have attained, by that same rule let us walk.
16But whereto we have attained, [let us] walk in the same steps.
16but to what we have come--by the same rule walk, the same thing think;
17Brethren, be ye imitators together of me, and mark them that so walk even as ye have us for an ensample.
17Be imitators [all] together of me, brethren, and fix your eyes on those walking thus as you have us for a model;
17become followers together of me, brethren, and observe those thus walking, according as ye have us--a pattern;
18For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
18(for many walk of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they [are] the enemies of the cross of Christ:
18for many walk of whom many times I told you--and now also weeping tell--the enemies of the cross of the Christ!
19whose end is perdition, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.
19whose end [is] destruction, whosegod [is] the belly, and [their] glory in their shame, who mind earthly things:)
19whose end <FI>is<Fi> destruction, whose god <FI>is<Fi> the belly, and whose glory <FI>is<Fi> in their shame, who the things on earth are minding.
20For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
20for our commonwealth has its existence in [the] heavens, from which also we await the Lord Jesus Christ [as] Saviour,
20For our citizenship is in the heavens, whence also a Saviour we await--the Lord Jesus Christ--
21who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself.
21who shall transform our body of humiliation into conformity to his body of glory, according to the working of [the] power which he has even to subdue all things to himself.
21who shall transform the body of our humiliation to its becoming conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working of his power, even to subject to himself the all things.
