What Mark 8:9 means

Approximately four thousand people were fed on this occasion. After they had eaten, Jesus sent them away. This number, while large, is slightly less than the five thousand fed in a previous miracle, yet it further confirms Jesus' consistent power to provide for vast multitudes. His act of sending them away shows a compassionate concern for their journey home and the completion of His immediate care.
