1And God blessed Noe and his sons. And he said to them: Increase, and multiply, and fill the earth.
1AndGod blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.
1And God blesseth Noah, and his sons, and saith to them, `Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth;
2And let the fear and dread of you be upon all the beasts of the earth, and upon all the fowls of the air, and all that move upon the earth: all the fishes of the sea are delivered into your hand.
2And let the fear of you and the dread of you be upon every animal of the earth, and upon all fowl of the heavens: upon all that moveth [on] the ground; and upon all the fishes of the sea: into your hand are they delivered.
2and your fear and your dread is on every beast of the earth, and on every fowl of the heavens, on all that creepeth on the ground, and on all fishes of the sea--into your hand they have been given.
3And every thing that moveth, and liveth shall be meat for you: even as the green herbs have I delivered them all to you:
3Every moving thing that liveth shall be food for you: as the green herb I give you everything.
3Every creeping thing that is alive, to you it is for food; as the green herb I have given to you the whole;
4Saving that flesh with blood you shall not eat.
4Only, the flesh with its life, its blood, ye shall not eat.
4only flesh in its life--its blood--ye do not eat.
5For I will require the blood of your lives at the hand of every beast, and at the hand of man, at the hand of every man, and of his brother, will I require the life of man.
5And indeed your blood, [the blood] of your lives, will I require: at the hand of every animal will I require it, and at the hand of Man, at the hand of each [the blood] of his brother, will I require the life of Man.
5`And only your blood for your lives do I require; from the hand of every living thing I require it, and from the hand of man, from the hand of every man's brother I require the life of man;
6Whosoever shall shed man's blood, his blood shall be shed: for man was made to the image of God.
6Whoso sheddeth Man's blood, by Man shall his blood be shed; for in the image ofGod he hath made Man.
6whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man is his blood shed: for in the image of God hath He made man.
7But increase you and multiply, and go upon the earth and fill it.
7And ye, be fruitful and multiply: swarm on the earth, and multiply on it.
7And ye, be fruitful and multiply, teem in the earth, and multiply in it.'
8Thus also said God to Noe, and to his sons with him:
8AndGod spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
8And God speaketh unto Noah, and unto his sons with him, saying,
9Behold I will establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you:
9And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
9`And I, lo, I am establishing My covenant with you, and with your seed after you,
10And with every living soul that is with you, as well in all birds, as in cattle and beasts of the earth, that are come forth out of the ark, and in all the beasts of the earth.
10and with every living soul which is with you, fowl as well as cattle, and all the animals of the earth with you, of all that has gone out of the ark — every animal of the earth.
10and with every living creature which <FI>is<Fi> with you, among fowl, among cattle, and among every beast of the earth with you, from all who are going out of the ark--to every beast of the earth.
11I will establish my covenant with you, and all flesh shall be no more destroyed with the waters of a flood, neither shall there be from henceforth a flood to waste the earth.
11And I establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood, and henceforth there shall be no flood to destroy the earth.
11And I have established My covenant with you, and all flesh is not any more cut off by waters of a deluge, and there is not any more a deluge to destroy the earth.'
12And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I give between me and you, and to every living soul that is with you, for perpetual generations.
12AndGod said, This is the sign of the covenant that I set between me and you and every living soul that is with you, for everlasting generations:
12And God saith, `This is a token of the covenant which I am giving between Me and you, and every living creature that <FI>is<Fi> with you, to generations age-during;
13I will set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be the sign of a covenant between me and between the earth.
13I set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be for a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
13My bow I have given in the cloud, and it hath been for a token of a covenant between Me and the earth;
14And when I shall cover the sky with clouds, my bow shall appear in the clouds:
14And it shall come to pass when I bring clouds over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud,
14and it hath come to pass (in My sending a cloud over the earth) that the bow hath been seen in the cloud,
15And I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that beareth flesh: and there shall no more be waters of a flood to destroy all flesh.
15and I will remember my covenant which is between me and you and every living soul of all flesh; and the waters shall not henceforth become a flood to destroy all flesh.
15and I have remembered My covenant which is between Me and you, and every living creature among all flesh, and the waters become no more a deluge to destroy all flesh;
16And the bow shall be in the clouds, and I shall see it, and shall remember the everlasting covenant, that was made between God and every living soul of all flesh which is upon the earth.
16And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant betweenGod and every living soul of all flesh that is upon the earth.
16and the bow hath been in the cloud, and I have seen it--to remember the covenant age-during between God and every living creature among all flesh which <FI>is<Fi> on the earth.'
17And God said to Noe: This shall be the sign of the covenant, which I have established, between me and all flesh upon the earth.
17AndGod said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.
17And God saith unto Noah, `This <FI>is<Fi> a token of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that <FI>is<Fi> upon the earth.'
18And the sons of Noe, who came out of the ark, were Sem, Cham, and Japheth: and Cham is the father of Chanaan.
18And the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth. And Ham is the father of Canaan.
18And the sons of Noah who are going out of the ark are Shem, and Ham, and Japheth; and Ham is father of Canaan.
19These three are the sons of Noe: and from these was all mankind spread over the whole earth.
19These three are the sons of Noah; and from these was [the population of] the whole earth spread abroad.
19These three <FI>are<Fi> sons of Noah, and from these hath all the earth been overspread.
20And Noe a husbandman began to till the ground, and planted a vineyard.
20And Noah began [to be] a husbandman, and planted a vineyard.
20And Noah remaineth a man of the ground, and planteth a vineyard,
21And drinking of the wine was made drunk, and was uncovered in his tent.
21And he drank of the wine, and was drunken, and he uncovered himself in his tent.
21and drinketh of the wine, and is drunken, and uncovereth himself in the midst of the tent.
22Which when Cham the father of Chanaan had seen, to wit, that his father's nakedness was uncovered, he told it to his two brethren without.
22And Ham the father of Canaan saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren outside.
22And Ham, father of Canaan, seeth the nakedness of his father, and declareth to his two brethren without.
23But Sem and Japheth put a cloak upon their shoulders, and going backward, covered the nakedness of their father: and their faces were turned away, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
23And Shem and Japheth took the upper garment and both laid [it] upon their shoulders, and went backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father. And their faces were turned away, that they saw not their father's nakedness.
23And Shem taketh--Japheth also--the garment, and they place on the shoulder of them both, and go backward, and cover the nakedness of their father; and their faces <FI>are<Fi> backward, and their father's nakedness they have not seen.
24And Noe awaking from the wine, when he had learned what his younger son had done to him,
24And Noah awoke from his wine, and learned what his youngest son had done to him.
24And Noah awaketh from his wine, and knoweth that which his young son hath done to him,
25He said: Cursed be Chanaan, a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
25And he said, Cursed be Canaan; Let him be a bondman of bondmen to his brethren.
25and saith: `Cursed <FI>is<Fi> Canaan, Servant of servants he is to his brethren.'
26And he said: Blessed be the Lord God of Sem, be Chanaan his servant.
26And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, theGod of Shem, And let Canaan be his bondman.
26And he saith: `Blessed of Jehovah my God <FI>is<Fi> Shem, And Canaan is servant to him.
27May God enlarge Japheth, and may he dwell in the tents of Sem, and Chanaan be his servant.
27LetGod enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, And let Canaan be his bondman.
27God doth give beauty to Japheth, And he dwelleth in tents of Shem, And Canaan is servant to him.'
