What Exodus 3:17 means
Moses was to convey God's reiterated promise of deliverance to the elders. God would bring them out of Egypt's affliction and lead them into the "land flowing with milk and honey"—the Promised Land. Again, God listed the inhabitants (Canaanite, Hittite, Amorite, Perizzite, Hivite, and Jebusite), reaffirming the certainty of His plan to displace them and fulfill His covenant. This promise would serve as a powerful message of hope and assurance to the oppressed Israelites.
