Mount Sinai
The mountain of God — where Moses received the Ten Commandments amid fire, smoke, and trumpet.

Mount Sinai (also called Horeb in some passages) is the mountain in the southern Sinai Peninsula where the Lord met Moses at the burning bush, where Israel camped for nearly a year after the exodus, and where the covenant of the Law was given.
Sinai is the mountain of revelation. The Ten Commandments, the moral and ceremonial law, and the pattern of the tabernacle were all given here. Centuries later Elijah fled to the same mountain and heard the still small voice (1 Kings 19).
