2I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah thy God, who hath brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants.
2I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
4`Thou dost not make to thyself a graven image, or any likeness which <FI>is<Fi> in the heavens above, or which <FI>is<Fi> in the earth beneath, or which <FI>is<Fi> in the waters under the earth.
4Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth.
5Thou dost not bow thyself to them, nor serve them: for I, Jehovah thy God, <FI>am<Fi> a zealous God, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third <FI>generation<Fi> , and on the fourth, of those hating Me,
5Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them: I am the Lord thy God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me:
6and doing kindness to thousands, of those loving Me and keeping My commands.
6And shewing mercy unto thousands to them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7`Thou dost not take up the name of Jehovah thy God for a vain thing, for Jehovah acquitteth not him who taketh up His name for a vain thing.
7Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that shall take the name of the Lord his God in vain.
9six days thou dost labour, and hast done all thy work,
9Six days shalt thou labour, and shalt do all thy works.
10and the seventh day <FI>is<Fi> a Sabbath to Jehovah thy God; thou dost not do any work, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, thy man-servant, and thy handmaid, and thy cattle, and thy sojourner who is within thy gates, --
10But on the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: thou shalt do no work on it, thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy beast, nor the stranger that is within thy gates.
11for six days hath Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that <FI>is<Fi> in them, and resteth in the seventh day; therefore hath Jehovah blessed the Sabbath-day, and doth sanctify it.
11For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them, and rested on the seventh day: therefore the Lord blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.
12`Honour thy father and thy mother, so that thy days are prolonged on the ground which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee.
12Honour thy father and thy mother, that thou mayst be longlived upon the land which the Lord thy God will give thee.
16`Thou dost not answer against thy neighbour a false testimony.
16Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17`Thou dost not desire the house of thy neighbour, thou dost not desire the wife of thy neighbour, or his man-servant, or his handmaid, or his ox, or his ass, or anything which <FI>is<Fi> thy neighbour's.'
17Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house; neither shalt thou desire his wife, nor his servant, nor his handmaid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is his.
18And all the people are seeing the voices, and the flames, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mount smoking; and the people see, and move, and stand afar off,
18And all the people saw the voices and the flames, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mount smoking; and being terrified and struck with fear, they stood afar off,
19and say unto Moses, `Speak thou with us, and we hear, and let not God speak with us, lest we die.'
19Saying to Moses: Speak thou to us, and we will hear: let not the Lord speak to us, lest we die.
20And Moses saith unto the people, `Fear not, for to try you hath God come, and in order that His fear may be before your faces--that ye sin not.'
20And Moses said to the people: Fear not; for God is come to prove you, and that the dread of him might be in you, and you should not sin.
21And the people stand afar off, and Moses hath drawn nigh unto the thick darkness where God <FI>is<Fi> .
21And the people stood afar off. But Moses went to the dark cloud wherein God was.
22And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Thus dost thou say unto the sons of Israel: Ye--ye have seen that from the heavens I have spoken with you;
22And the Lord said to Moses: Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: You have seen that I have spoken to you from heaven.
23ye do not make with Me gods of silver, even gods of gold ye do not make to yourselves.
23You shall not make gods of silver, nor shall you make to yourselves gods of gold.
24`An altar of earth thou dost make for Me, and thou hast sacrificed on it thy burnt-offerings and thy peace-offerings, thy flock and thy herd; in every place where I cause My name to be remembered I come in unto thee, and have blessed thee.
24You shall make an altar of earth unto me, and you shall offer upon it your holocausts and peace offerings, your sheep and oxen, in every place where the memory of my name shall be: I will come to thee, and will bless thee.
