1He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the assembly of Jehovah.
1An eunuch, whose testicles are broken or cut away, or yard cut off, shall not enter into the church of the Lord.
1`One wounded, bruised, or cut in the member doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah;
1No man whose private parts have been wounded or cut off may come into the meeting of the Lord's people.
2A bastard shall not enter into the assembly of Jehovah; even to the tenth generation shall none of his enter into the assembly of Jehovah.
2A mamzer, that is to say, one born of a prostitute, shall not enter into the church of the Lord, until the tenth generation.
2a bastard doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah; even a tenth generation of him doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah.
2One whose father and mother are not married may not come into the meeting of the Lord's people, or any of his family to the tenth generation.
3An Ammonite or a Moabite shall not enter into the assembly of Jehovah; even to the tenth generation shall none belonging to them enter into the assembly of Jehovah for ever:
3The Ammonite and the Moabite, even after the tenth generation shall not enter into the church of the Lord for ever:
3`An Ammonite and a Moabite doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah; even a tenth generation of them doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah--to the age;
3No Ammonite or Moabite or any of their people to the tenth generation may come into the meeting of the Lord's people:
4because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
4Because they would not meet you with bread and water in the way, when you came out of Egypt: and because they hired against thee Balaam, the son of Beor, from Mesopotamia in Syria, to curse thee.
4because that they have not come before you with bread and with water in the way, in your coming out from Egypt, and because he hath hired against thee Balaam son of Beor, of Pethor of Aram-Naharaim, to revile thee;
4Because they gave you no bread or water on your way, when you came out of Egypt: and they got Balaam, the son of Peor, from Pethor in Aram-naharaim to put curses on you.
5Nevertheless Jehovah thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but Jehovah thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because Jehovah thy God loved thee.
5And the Lord thy God would not hear Balaam, and he turned his cursing into thy blessing, because he loved thee.
5and Jehovah thy God hath not been willing to hearken unto Balaam, and Jehovah thy God doth turn for thee the reviling to a blessing, because Jehovah thy God hath loved thee;
5But the Lord your God would not give ear to Balaam, but let the curse be changed into a blessing to you, because of his love for you.
6Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.
6Thou shalt not make peace with them, neither shalt thou seek their prosperity all the days of thy life for ever.
6thou dost not seek their peace and their good all thy days--to the age.
6Do nothing for their peace or well-being for ever.
7Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a sojourner in his land.
7Thou shalt not abhor the Edomite, because he is thy brother: nor the Egyptian, because thou wast a stranger in his land.
7`Thou dost not abominate an Edomite, for thy brother he <FI>is<Fi> ; thou dost not abominate an Egyptian, for a sojourner thou hast been in his land;
7But have no hate for an Edomite, because he is your brother, or for an Egyptian, for you were living in his land.
8The children of the third generation that are born unto them shall enter into the assembly of Jehovah.
8They that are born of them, in the third generation shall enter into the church of the Lord.
8sons who are begotten of them, a third generation of them, doth enter into the assembly of Jehovah.
8Their children in the third generation may come into the meeting of the Lord's people.
9When thou goest forth in camp against thine enemies, then thou shalt keep thee from every evil thing.
9When thou goest out to war against thy enemies, thou shalt keep thyself from every evil thing.
9`When a camp goeth out against thine enemies, then thou hast kept from every evil thing.
9When you go out to war and put your tents in position, keep from every evil thing.
10If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of that which chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:
10If there be among you any man, that is defiled in a dream by night, he shall go forth out of the camp,
10`When there is in thee a man who is not clean, from an accident at night--then he hath gone out unto the outside of the camp--he doth not come in unto the midst of the camp--
10If any man among you becomes unclean through anything which has taken place in the night, he is to go out from the tent-circle and keep outside it:
11but it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall bathe himself in water; and when the sun is down, he shall come within the camp.
11And shall not return, before he be washed with water in the evening: and after sunset he shall return into the camp.
11and it hath been, at the turning of the evening, he doth bathe with water, and at the going in of the sun he doth come in unto the midst of the camp.
11But when evening comes near, let him take a bath: and after sundown he may come back to the tents.
12Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
12Thou shalt have a place without the camp, to which thou mayst go for the necessities of nature,
12`And a station thou hast at the outside of the camp, and thou hast gone out thither without,
12Let there be a place outside the tent-circle to which you may go;
13and thou shalt have a paddle among thy weapons; and it shall be, when thou sittest down abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:
13Carrying a paddle at thy girdle. And when thou sittest down, thou shalt dig round about, and with the earth that is dug up thou shalt cover
13and a nail thou hast on thy staff, and it hath been, in thy sitting without, that thou hast digged with it, and turned back, and covered thy filth;
13And have among your arms a spade; and when you have been to that place, let that which comes from you be covered up with earth:
14for Jehovah thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy, that he may not see an unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.
14That which thou art eased of: (for the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thy enemies to thee:) and let thy camp be holy, and let no uncleanness appear therein, lest he go away from thee.
14for Jehovah thy God is walking up and down in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give thine enemies before thee, and thy camp hath been holy, and He doth not see in thee the nakedness of anything, and hath turned back from after thee.
14For the Lord your God is walking among your tents, to keep you safe and to give up into your hands those who are fighting against you; then let your tents be holy, so that he may see no unclean thing among you, and be turned away from you.
15Thou shalt not deliver unto his master a servant that is escaped from his master unto thee:
15Thou shalt not deliver to his master the servant that is fled to thee.
15`Thou dost not shut up a servant unto his lord, who is delivered unto thee from his lord;
15Do not give back to his master a servant who has gone in flight from his master and come to you:
16he shall dwell with thee, in the midst of thee, in the place which he shall choose within one of thy gates, where it pleaseth him best: thou shalt not oppress him.
16He shall dwell with thee in the place that shall please him, and shall rest in one of thy cities: give him no trouble.
16with thee he doth dwell, in thy midst, in the place which he chooseth within one of thy gates, where it is pleasing to him; thou dost not oppress him.
16Let him go on living among you in whatever place is most pleasing to him: do not be hard on him.
17There shall be no prostitute of the daughters of Israel, neither shall there be a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
17There shall be no whore among the daughters of Israel, nor whoremonger among the sons of Israel.
17`There is not a whore among the daughters of Israel, nor is there a whoremonger among the sons of Israel;
17No daughter of Israel is to let herself be used as a loose woman for a strange god, and no son of Israel is to give himself to a man.
18Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the wages of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God for any vow: for even both these are an abomination unto Jehovah thy God.
18Thou shalt not offer the hire of a strumpet, nor the price of a dog, in the house of the Lord thy God, whatsoever it be that thou hast vowed: because both these are an abomination to the Lord thy God.
18thou dost not bring a gift of a whore, or a price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God, for any vow; for the abomination of Jehovah thy God <FI>are<Fi> even both of them.
18Do not take into the house of the Lord your God, as an offering for an oath, the price of a loose woman or the money given to one used for sex purposes in the worship of the gods: for these two things are disgusting to the Lord your God.
19Thou shalt not lend upon interest to thy brother; interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of anything that is lent upon interest.
19Thou shalt not lend to thy brother money to usury, nor corn, nor any other thing:
19`Thou dost not lend in usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of food, usury of anything which is lent on usury.
19Do not take interest from an Israelite on anything, money or food or any other goods, which you let him have:
20Unto a foreigner thou mayest lend upon interest; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon interest, that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all that thou puttest thy hand unto, in the land whither thou goest in to possess it.
20But to the stranger. To thy brother thou shalt lend that which he wanteth, without usury: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all thy works in the land, which thou shalt go in to possess.
20To a stranger thou mayest lend in usury, and to thy brother thou dost not lend in usury, so that Jehovah thy God doth bless thee in every putting forth of thy hand on the land whither thou goest in to possess it.
20From men of other nations you may take interest, but not from an Israelite: so that the blessing of the Lord your God may be on everything to which you put your hand, in the land which you are about to take as your heritage.
21When thou shalt vow a vow unto Jehovah thy God, thou shalt not be slack to pay it: for Jehovah thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
21When thou hast made a vow to the Lord thy God, thou shalt not delay to pay it: because the Lord thy God will require it. And if thou delay, it shall be imputed to thee for a sin.
21`When thou vowest a vow to Jehovah thy God, thou dost not delay to complete it; for Jehovah thy God doth certainly require it from thee, and it hath been in thee--sin.
21When you take an oath to the Lord, do not be slow to give effect to it: for without doubt the Lord your God will make you responsible, and will put it to your account as sin.
22But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.
22If thou wilt not promise, that shalt be without sin.
22`And when thou forbearest to vow, it is not in thee a sin.
22But if you take no oath, there will be no sin.
23That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt observe and do; according as thou hast vowed unto Jehovah thy God, a freewill-offering, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.
23But that which is once gone out of thy lips, thou shalt observe, and shalt do as thou hast promised to the Lord thy God, and hast spoken with thy own will and with thy own mouth.
23The produce of thy lips thou dost keep, and hast done <FI>it<Fi> , as thou hast vowed to Jehovah thy God; a free-will-offering, which thou hast spoken with thy mouth.
23Whatever your lips have said, see that you do it; for you gave your word freely to the Lord your God.
24When thou comest into thy neighbor’s vineyard, then thou mayest eat of grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.
24Going into thy neighbour's vineyard, thou mayst eat as many grapes as thou pleasest: but must carry none out with thee:
24`When thou comest in unto the vineyard of thy neighbour, then thou hast eaten grapes, according to thy desire, thy sufficiency; but into thy vessel thou dost not put <FI>any<Fi> .
24When you go into your neighbour's vine-garden, you may take of his grapes at your pleasure, but you may not take them away in your vessel.
25When thou comest into thy neighbor’s standing grain, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thy hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbor’s standing grain.
25If thou go into thy friend's corn, thou mayst break the ears, and rub them in thy hand: but not reap them with a sickle.
25When thou comest in among the standing-corn of thy neighbour, then thou hast plucked the ears with thy hand, but a sickle thou dost not wave over the standing-corn of thy neighbour.
25When you go into your neighbour's field, you may take the heads of grain with your hand; but you may not put your blade to his grain.
