1Being justified therefore by faith, let us have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ:
1Therefore having been justified on the principle of faith, we have peace towardsGod through our Lord Jesus Christ;
2By whom also we have access through faith into this grace wherein we stand: and glory in the hope of the glory of the sons of God.
2by whom we have also access by faith into this favour in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory ofGod.
3And not only so: but we glory also in tribulation, knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
3And not only [that], but we also boast in tribulations, knowing that tribulation works endurance;
5And hope confoundeth not: because the charity of God is poured forth in our hearts, by the Holy Ghost who is given to us.
5and hope does not make ashamed, because the love ofGod is shed abroad in our hearts by [the] Holy Spirit which has been given to us:
6For why did Christ, when as yet we were weak, according to the time, die for the ungodly?
6for we being still without strength, in [the] due time Christ has died for [the] ungodly.
7For scarce for a just man will one die: yet perhaps for a good man some one would dare to die.
7For scarcely for [the] just [man] will one die, for perhaps for [the] good [man] some one might also dare to die;
8But God commendeth his charity towards us: because when as yet we were sinners according to the time.
8butGod commends his love to us, in that, we being still sinners, Christ has died for us.
9Christ died for us. Much more therefore, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from wrath through him.
9Much rather therefore, having been now justified in [the power of] his blood, we shall be saved by him from wrath.
10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son: much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
10For if, being enemies, we have been reconciled toGod through the death of his Son, much rather, having been reconciled, we shall be saved in [the power of] his life.
11And not only so: but also we glory in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received reconciliation.
11And not only [that], but [we are] making our boast inGod, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom now we have received the reconciliation.
12Wherefore as by one man sin entered into this world and by sin death: and so death passed upon all men, in whom all have sinned.
12For this [cause], even as by one man sin entered into the world, and by sin death; and thus death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13For until the law sin was in the world: but sin was not imputed, when the law was not.
13(for until law sin was in [the] world; but sin is not put to account when there is no law;
14But death reigned from Adam unto Moses, even over them also who have not sinned, after the similitude of the transgression of Adam, who is a figure of him who was to come.
14but death reigned from Adam until Moses, even upon those who had not sinned in the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is [the] figure of him to come.
15But not as the offence, so also the gift. For if by the offence of one, many died: much more the grace of God and the gift, by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
15But [shall] not the act of favour [be] as the offence? For if by the offence of one the many have died, much rather has the grace ofGod, and the free gift in grace, which [is] by the one man Jesus Christ, abounded unto the many.
16And not as it was by one sin, so also is the gift. For judgment indeed was by one unto condemnation: but grace is of many offences unto justification.
16And [shall] not as by one that has sinned [be] the gift? For the judgment [was] of one to condemnation, but the act of favour, of many offences unto justification.
17For if by one man's offence death reigned through one; much more they who receive abundance of grace and of the gift and of justice shall reign in life through one, Jesus Christ.
17For if by the offence of the one death reigned by the one, much rather shall those who receive the abundance of grace, and of the free gift of righteousness, reign in life by the one Jesus Christ:)
18Therefore, as by the offence of one, unto all men to condemnation: so also by the justice of one, unto all men to justification of life.
18so then as [it was] by one offence towards all men to condemnation, so by one righteousness towards all men for justification of life.
19For as by the disobedience of one man, many were made sinners: so also by the obedience of one, many shall be made just.
19For as indeed by the disobedience of the one man the many have been constituted sinners, so also by the obedience of the one the many will be constituted righteous.
