What Revelation 5:12 means

With a great voice the angels ascribe to the slain Lamb the right to receive power, riches, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing. The sevenfold list signals fullness and perfection. They are not transferring divine attributes as if He lacked them; they are recognizing and celebrating that all excellence properly belongs to Him, especially in light of His sacrificial victory. The titles span material, intellectual, and moral excellencies, affirming the Lamb’s supreme fitness to govern. Heaven’s loud praise matches the greatness of His work: the One who died now lives and is acclaimed as supremely worthy of every resource and every honor.

Context

The angelic multitude now voices their doxology, amplifying what the elders had sung. This is the penultimate wave of praise before the final, universal response in the next verse. By piling up seven terms, the chorus signals completeness. The worship has moved from the Lamb’s worth and work (verses 9–10) to the recognition of His all-surpassing dignity. Next, every creature in every realm will join the refrain, directing honor both to the One on the throne and to the Lamb forever.

v.11And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

v.12This passage

v.13And every created thing which is in the heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and on the sea, and all things that are in them, heard I saying, Unto him that sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb, be the blessing, and the honor, and the glory, and the dominion, for ever and ever.
