What Revelation 2:26 means

Jesus promises that the one who overcomes and keeps His works to the end will receive authority over the nations. Faithfulness now leads to future participation in His rule. Context

Following the call to hold fast (verse 25), this verse opens a set of royal promises. It anticipates verse 27’s imagery of ruling with a rod of iron and being given authority like Christ received from the Father. The sequence expands the horizon for Thyatira’s faithful: their present endurance positions them for future participation in Christ’s kingdom. Verse 28 will add the gift of the morning star before the concluding call in verse 29.
