What Revelation 15:6 means

From the opened temple come the seven angels, clothed in dazzling purity, like garments set with precious stone, and girded with golden sashes. Their attire reflects holiness, dignity, and readiness, reminiscent of priestly service and royal authority. They are not independent actors; they proceed from God’s sanctuary, showing that their mission bears divine commission. The emphasis on purity counters any thought that these plagues are unjust or tainted. These messengers, radiant and disciplined, embody the gravity of the task: to administer judgments that are consistent with the character of the God who sends them.

Context

With the temple opened (verse 5), verse 6 presents the agents who will execute the decreed judgments. Their description slows the narrative to stress the sacred nature of their work. Next, in verse 7, they will receive the instruments of judgment—the golden bowls full of God’s wrath—from one of the four living creatures. The careful buildup magnifies the solemnity of the moment before the chapter closes with the unmistakable sign of God’s manifest presence halting all entry (verse 8).

v.5And after these things I saw, and the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

v.6This passage

v.7And one of the four living creatures gave unto the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
