1O Jehovah, rebuke me not in thine anger, Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
1O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
1 O Lord, do not be bitter with me in your wrath; do not send punishment on me in the heat of your passion.
1To the Overseer with stringed instruments, on the octave. --A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, in Thine anger reprove me not, Nor in Thy fury chastise me.
2Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah; for I am withered away: O Jehovah, heal me; for my bones are troubled.
2Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
2Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am wasted away: make me well, for even my bones are troubled.
2Favour me, O Jehovah, for I <FI>am<Fi> weak, Heal me, O Jehovah, For troubled have been my bones,
3My soul also is sore troubled: And thou, O Jehovah, how long?
3My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long?
3My soul is in bitter trouble; and you, O Lord, how long?
3And my soul hath been troubled greatly, And Thou, O Jehovah, till when?
4Return, O Jehovah, deliver my soul: Save me for thy lovingkindness’ sake.
4Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.
4Come back, O Lord, make my soul free; O give me salvation because of your mercy.
4Turn back, O Jehovah, draw out my soul, Save me for Thy kindness' sake.
5For in death there is no remembrance of thee: In Sheol who shall give thee thanks?
5For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
5For in death there is no memory of you; in the underworld who will give you praise?
5For there is not in death Thy memorial, In Sheol, who doth give thanks to Thee?
6I am weary with my groaning; Every night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.
6I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.
6The voice of my sorrow is a weariness to me; all the night I make my bed wet with weeping; it is watered by the drops flowing from my eyes.
6I have been weary with my sighing, I meditate through all the night <FI>on<Fi> my bed, With my tear my couch I waste.
7Mine eye wasteth away because of grief; It waxeth old because of all mine adversaries.
7Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.
7My eyes are wasting away with trouble; they are becoming old because of all those who are against me.
7Old from provocation is mine eye, It is old because of all mine adversaries,
8Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; For Jehovah hath heard the voice of my weeping.
8Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.
8Go from me, all you workers of evil; for the Lord has given ear to the voice of my weeping.
8Turn from me all ye workers of iniquity, For Jehovah heard the voice of my weeping,
9Jehovah hath heard my supplication; Jehovah will receive my prayer.
9The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.
9The Lord has given ear to my request; the Lord has let my prayer come before him.
9Jehovah hath heard my supplication, Jehovah my prayer receiveth.
10All mine enemies shall be put to shame and sore troubled: They shall turn back, they shall be put to shame suddenly.
10Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
10Let all those who are against me be shamed and deeply troubled; let them be turned back and suddenly put to shame.
10Ashamed and troubled greatly are all mine enemies, They turn back--ashamed <FI>in<Fi> a moment!
