1 Give ear to my words, O Lord; give thought to my heart-searchings.

1Unto the end, for her that obtaineth the inheritance. A psalm for David.

1Give ear to my words, O Jehovah, Consider my meditation.

1To the Overseer, `Concerning the Inheritances.' --A Psalm of David. My sayings hear, O Jehovah, Consider my meditation.

2Let the voice of my cry come to you, my King and my God; for to you will I make my prayer.

2Give ear, O Lord, to my words, understand my cry.

2Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God; For unto thee do I pray.

2Be attentive to the voice of my cry, My king and my God, For unto Thee I pray habitually.

3My voice will come to you in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I send my prayer to you, and keep watch.

3Hearken to the voice of my prayer, O my King and my God.

3O Jehovah, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice; In the morning will I order my prayer unto thee, and will keep watch.

3Jehovah, <FI>at<Fi> morning Thou hearest my voice, <FI>At<Fi> morning I set in array for Thee, And I look out.

4For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wrongdoing; there is no evil with you.

4For to thee will I pray: O Lord, in the morning thou shalt hear my voice.

4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: Evil shall not sojourn with thee.

4For not a God desiring wickedness <FI>art<Fi> Thou, Evil inhabiteth Thee not.

5The sons of pride have no place before you; you are a hater of all workers of evil.

5In the morning I will stand before thee, and I will see: because thou art not a God that willest iniquity.

5The arrogant shall not stand in thy sight: Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

5The boastful station not themselves before Thine eyes: Thou hast hated all working iniquity.

6You will send destruction on those whose words are false; the cruel man and the man of deceit are hated by the Lord.

6Neither shall the wicked dwell near thee: nor shall the unjust abide before thy eyes.

6Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies: Jehovah abhorreth the blood-thirsty and deceitful man.

6Thou destroyest those speaking lies, A man of blood and deceit Jehovah doth abominate.

7But as for me, I will come into your house, in the full measure of your mercy; and in your fear I will give worship, turning my eyes to your holy Temple.

7Thou hatest all the workers of iniquity: thou wilt destroy all that speak a lie. The bloody and the deceitful man the Lord will abhor.

7But as for me, in the abundance of thy lovingkindness will I come into thy house: In thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

7And I, in the abundance of Thy kindness, I enter Thy house, I bow myself toward Thy holy temple in Thy fear.

8Be my guide, O Lord, in the ways of your righteousness, because of those who are against me; make your way straight before my face.

8But as for me in the multitude of thy mercy, I will come into thy house; I will worship towards thy holy temple, in thy fear.

8Lead me, O Jehovah, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; Make thy way straight before my face.

8O Jehovah, lead me in Thy righteousness, Because of those observing me, Make straight before me Thy way,

9For no faith may be put in their words; their inner part is nothing but evil; their throat is like an open place for the dead; smooth are the words of their tongues.

9Conduct me, O Lord, in thy justice: because of my enemies, direct my way in thy sight.

9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; Their inward part is very wickedness; Their throat is an open sepulchre; They flatter with their tongue.

9For there is no stability in their mouth. Their heart <FI>is<Fi> mischiefs, An open grave <FI>is<Fi> their throat, Their tongue they make smooth.

10Send them to destruction, O Lord; let their evil designs be the cause of their fall; let them be forced out by all their sins; because they have gone against your authority.

10For there is no truth in their mouth: their heart is vain.

10Hold them guilty, O God; Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions; For they have rebelled against thee.

10Declare them guilty, O God, Let them fall from their own counsels, In the abundance of their transgressions Drive them away, Because they have rebelled against Thee.

11But let all those who put their faith in you be glad with cries of joy at all times, and let all the lovers of your name be glad in you.

11Their throat is an open sepulchre: they dealt deceitfully with their tongues: judge them, O God. Let them fall from their devices: according to the multitude of their wickednesses cast them out: for they have provoked thee, O Lord.

11But let all those that take refuge in thee rejoice, Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

11And rejoice do all trusting in Thee, To the age they sing, and Thou coverest them over, And those loving Thy name exult in Thee.

12For you, Lord, will send a blessing on the upright man; your grace will be round him, and you will be his strength.

12But let all them be glad that hope in thee: they shall rejoice for ever, and thou shalt dwell in them. And all they that love thy name shall glory in thee.

12For thou wilt bless the righteous; O Jehovah, thou wilt compass him with favor as with a shield.

12For Thou blessest the righteous, O Jehovah, As a buckler with favour dost compass him!

13For thou wilt bless the just. O Lord, thou hast crowned us, as with a shield of thy good will.
