1Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, in his holy mountain.
1A Song, a Psalm, by sons of Korah. Great <FI>is<Fi> Jehovah, and praised greatly, In the city of our God--His holy hill.
1 Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised in the city of ourGod, in the hill of his holiness.
1Unto the end, a psalm for the sons of Core.
2Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, The city of the great King.
2Beautiful <FI>for<Fi> elevation, A joy of all the land, <FI>is<Fi> Mount Zion, The sides of the north, the city of a great king.
2 Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, [on] the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
2Hear these things, all ye nations: give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world.
3God hath made himself known in her palaces for a refuge.
3God in her high places is known for a tower.
3 God is known in her palaces as a high fortress.
3All you that are earthborn, and you sons of men: both rich and poor together.
4For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, They passed by together.
4For, lo, the kings met, they passed by together,
4 For behold, the kings assembled themselves, they passed by together;
4My mouth shall speak wisdom: and the meditation of my heart understanding.
5They saw it, then were they amazed; They were dismayed, they hasted away.
5They have seen--so they have marvelled, They have been troubled, they were hastened away.
5 They saw, — so they marvelled; they were troubled, they fled in consternation:
5I will incline my ear to a parable; I will open my proposition on the psaltery.
6Trembling took hold of them there, Pain, as of a woman in travail.
6Trembling hath seized them there, Pain, as of a travailing woman.
6 Trembling took hold upon them there; anguish, as of a woman in travail.
6Why shall I fear in the evil day? the iniquity of my heel shall encompass me.
7With the east wind Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.
7By an east wind Thou shiverest ships of Tarshish.
7 With an east wind thou hast broken the ships of Tarshish.
7They that trust in their own strength, and glory in the multitude of their riches,
8As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of Jehovah of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. [Selah
8As we have heard, so we have seen, In the city of Jehovah of hosts, In the city of our God, God doth establish her--to the age. Selah.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of Jehovah of hosts, in the city of ourGod:God doth establish it for ever. Selah.
8No brother can redeem, nor shall man redeem: he shall not give to God his ransom,
9We have thought on thy lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of thy temple.
9We have thought, O God, of Thy kindness, In the midst of Thy temple,
9 We have thought, OGod, of thy loving-kindness, in the midst of thy temple.
9Nor the price of the redemption of his soul: and shall labour for ever,
10As is thy name, O God, So is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: Thy right hand is full of righteousness.
10As <FI>is<Fi> Thy name, O God, so <FI>is<Fi> Thy praise, Over the ends of the earth, Righteousness hath filled Thy right hand.
10 According to thy name, OGod, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
10And shall still live unto the end.
11Let mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice, Because of thy judgments.
11Rejoice doth Mount Zion, The daughters of Judah are joyful, For the sake of Thy judgments.
11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.
11He shall not see destruction, when he shall see the wise dying: the senseless and the fool shall perish together: And they shall leave their riches to strangers:
12Walk about Zion, and go round about her; Number the towers thereof;
12Compass Zion, and go round her, count her towers,
12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her: count the towers thereof;
12And their sepulchres shall be their houses for ever. Their dwelling places to all generations: they have called their lands by their names.
13Mark ye well her bulwarks; Consider her palaces: That ye may tell it to the generation following.
13Set your heart to her bulwark, Consider her high places, So that ye recount to a later generation,
13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces: that ye may tell it to the generation following.
13And man when he was in honour did not understand; he is compared to senseless beasts, and is become like to them.
14For this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our guide even unto death.
14That this God <FI>is<Fi> our God--To the age and for ever, He--he doth lead us over death!
14 For thisGod is ourGod for ever and ever; he will be our guide until death.
14This way of theirs is a stumblingblock to them: and afterwards they shall delight in their mouth.

15They are laid in hell like sheep: death shall feed upon them. And the just shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their help shall decay in hell from their glory.
