1A Psalm of David. Ascribe to Jehovah, ye sons of the mighty, Ascribe to Jehovah honour and strength.

1A psalm of a canticle, at the dedication of David's house.

1 Give to the Lord, you sons of the gods, give to the Lord glory and strength.

1Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength.

2Ascribe to Jehovah the honour of His name, Bow yourselves to Jehovah, In the beauty of holiness.

2I will extol thee, O Lord, for thou hast upheld me: and hast not made my enemies to rejoice over me.

2Give to the Lord the full glory of his name; give him worship in holy robes.

2Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

3The voice of Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> on the waters, The God of glory hath thundered, Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> on many waters.

3O Lord my God, I have cried to thee, and thou hast healed me.

3The voice of the Lord is on the waters: the God of glory is thundering, the Lord is on the great waters.

3The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.

4The voice of Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> with power, The voice of Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> with majesty,

4Thou hast brought forth, O Lord, my soul from hell: thou hast saved me from them that go down into the pit.

4The voice of the Lord is full of power; the voice of the Lord has a noble sound.

4The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

5The voice of Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> shivering cedars, Yea, Jehovah shivers the cedars of Lebanon.

5Sing to the Lord, O ye his saints: and give praise to the memory of his holiness.

5By the voice of the Lord are the cedar-trees broken, even the cedars of Lebanon are broken by the Lord.

5The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

6And He causeth them to skip as a calf, Lebanon and Sirion as a son of Reems,

6For wrath is in his indignation; and life in his good will. In the evening weeping shall have place, and in the morning gladness.

6He makes them go jumping about like a young ox; Lebanon and Sirion like a young mountain ox.

6He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

7The voice of Jehovah is hewing fiery flames,

7And in my abundance I said: I shall never be moved.

7At the voice of the Lord flames of fire are seen.

7The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire.

8The voice of Jehovah paineth a wilderness, Jehovah paineth the wilderness of Kadesh.

8O Lord, in thy favour, thou gavest strength to my beauty. Thou turnedst away thy face from me, and I became troubled.

8At the voice of the Lord there is a shaking in the waste land, even a shaking in the waste land of Kadesh.

8The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

9The voice of Jehovah paineth the oaks, And maketh bare the forests, And in His temple every one saith, `Glory.'

9To thee, O Lord, will I cry: and I will make supplication to my God.

9At the voice of the Lord the roes give birth, the leaves are taken from the trees: in his Temple everything says, Glory.

9The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

10Jehovah on the deluge hath sat, And Jehovah sitteth king--to the age,

10What profit is there in my blood, whilst I go down to corruption? Shall dust confess to thee, or declare thy truth?

10The Lord had his seat as king when the waters came on the earth; the Lord is seated as king for ever.

10The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever.

11Jehovah strength to his people giveth, Jehovah blesseth His people with peace!

11The Lord hath heard, and hath had mercy on me: the Lord became my helper.

11The Lord will give strength to his people; the Lord will give his people the blessing of peace.

11The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.
