1 Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; Give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.
1Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; Give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.
1A Prayer of David. Hear, O Jehovah, righteousness, attend my cry, Give ear <FI>to<Fi> my prayer, without lips of deceit.
1 Let my cause come to your ears, O Lord, give attention to my cry; give ear to my prayer which goes not out from false lips.
2Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; Let thine eyes look upon equity.
2Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; Let thine eyes look upon equity.
2From before thee my judgment doth go out; Thine eyes do see uprightly.
2Be my judge; for your eyes see what is right.
3Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; Thou hast tried me, and findest nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
3Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; Thou hast tried me, and findest nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
3Thou hast proved my heart, Thou hast inspected by night, Thou hast tried me, Thou findest nothing; My thoughts pass not over my mouth.
3You have put my heart to the test, searching me in the night; you have put me to the test and seen no evil purpose in me; I will keep my mouth from sin.
4As for the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the ways of the violent.
4As for the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the ways of the violent.
4As to doings of man, Through a word of Thy lips I have observed The paths of a destroyer;
4As for the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept myself from the ways of the violent.
5My steps have held fast to thy paths, My feet have not slipped.
5My steps have held fast to thy paths, My feet have not slipped.
5To uphold my goings in Thy paths, My steps have not slidden.
5I have kept my feet in your ways, my steps have not been turned away.
6I have called upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O God: Incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
6I have called upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O God: Incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
6I--I called Thee, for Thou dost answer me, O God, incline Thine ear to me, hear my speech.
6My cry has gone up to you, for you will give me an answer, O God: let your ear be turned to me, and give attention to my words.
7Show thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that take refuge in thee From those that rise upagainst them.
7Show thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that take refuge in thee From those that rise upagainst them.
7Separate wonderfully Thy kindness, O Saviour of the confiding, By Thy right hand, from withstanders.
7Make clear the wonder of your mercy, O saviour of those who put their faith in your right hand, from those who come out against them.
8Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
8Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
8Keep me as the apple, the daughter of the eye; In shadow of Thy wings thou dost hide me.
8Keep me as the light of your eyes, covering me with the shade of your wings,
9From the wicked that oppress me, My deadly enemies, that compass me about.
9From the wicked that oppress me, My deadly enemies, that compass me about.
9From the face of the wicked who spoiled me. Mine enemies in soul go round against me.
9From the evil-doers who are violent to me, and from those who are round me, desiring my death.
10They are inclosed in their own fat: With their mouth they speak proudly.
10They are inclosed in their own fat: With their mouth they speak proudly.
10Their fat they have closed up, Their mouths have spoken with pride:
10They are shut up in their fat: with their mouths they say words of pride.
11They have now compassed us in our steps; They set their eyes to castusdown to the earth.
11They have now compassed us in our steps; They set their eyes to castusdown to the earth.
11`Our steps now have compassed <FI>him<Fi> ;' Their eyes they set to turn aside in the land.
11They have made a circle round our steps: their eyes are fixed on us, forcing us down to the earth;
12He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
12He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
12His likeness as a lion desirous to tear, As a young lion dwelling in secret places.
12Like a lion desiring its food, and like a young lion waiting in secret places.
13Arise, O Jehovah, Confront him, cast him down: Deliver my soul from the wicked by thy sword;
13Arise, O Jehovah, Confront him, cast him down: Deliver my soul from the wicked by thy sword;
13Arise, O Jehovah, go before his face, Cause him to bend. Deliver my soul from the wicked, Thy sword,
13Up! Lord, come out against him, make him low, with your sword be my saviour from the evil-doer.
14From men by thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, whose portion is inthislife, And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure: They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
14From men by thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, whose portion is inthislife, And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure: They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
14From men, Thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, their portion <FI>is<Fi> in life, And <FI>with<Fi> Thy hidden things Thou fillest their belly, They are satisfied <FI>with<Fi> sons; And have left their abundance to their sucklings.
14With your hand, O Lord, from men, even men of the world, whose heritage is in this life, and whom you make full with your secret wealth: they are full of children; after their death their offspring take the rest of their goods.
15As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with beholding thy form.
15As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with beholding thy form.
15I--in righteousness, I see Thy face; I am satisfied, in awaking, <FI>with<Fi> Thy form!
15As for me, I will see your face in righteousness: when I am awake it will be joy enough for me to see your form.
