1 The foolish man has said in his heart, God will not do anything. They are unclean, they have done evil works; there is not one who does good.
1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works; There is none that doeth good.
1To the Overseer. --By David. A fool hath said in his heart, `God is not;' They have done corruptly, They have done abominable actions, There is not a doer of good.
1A psalm for David. Lord, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle? or who shall rest in thy holy hill?
2The Lord was looking down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who had wisdom, searching after God.
2Jehovah looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, That did seek after God.
2Jehovah from the heavens Hath looked on the sons of men, To see if there is a wise one--seeking God.
2He that walketh without blemish, and worketh justice:
3They have all gone out of the way together; they are unclean, there is not one who does good, no, not one.
3They are all gone aside; they are together become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.
3The whole have turned aside, Together they have been filthy: There is not a doer of good, not even one.
3He that speaketh truth in his heart, who hath not used deceit in his tongue: Nor hath done evil to his neighbour: nor taken up a reproach against his neighbours.
4Have all the workers of evil no knowledge? they take my people for food as they would take bread; they make no prayer to the Lord.
4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my peopleasthey eat bread, And call not upon Jehovah?
4Have all working iniquity not known? Those consuming my people have eaten bread, Jehovah they have not called.
4In his sight the malignant is brought to nothing: but he glorifieth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his neighbour, and deceiveth not;
5Then were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the upright.
5There were they in great fear; For God is in the generation of the righteous.
5There they have feared a fear, For God <FI>is<Fi> in the generation of the righteous.
5He that hath not put out his money to usury, nor taken bribes against the innocent: He that doth these things, shall not be moved for ever.
6You have put to shame the thoughts of the poor, but the Lord is his support.
6Ye put to shame the counsel of the poor, Because Jehovah is his refuge.
6The counsel of the poor ye cause to stink, Because Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> his refuge.

7May the salvation of Israel come out of Zion! when the fate of his people is changed by the Lord, Jacob will have joy and Israel will be glad.
7Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When Jehovah bringeth back the captivity of his people, Then shall Jacob rejoice, andIsrael shall be glad.
7`Who doth give from Zion the salvation of Israel? When Jehovah doth turn back <FI>To<Fi> a captivity of His people, Jacob doth rejoice--Israel is glad!
