Psalms 122

1A Song of the Ascents, by David. I have rejoiced in those saying to me, `To the house of Jehovah we go.'

1To thee have I lifted up my eyes, who dwellest in heaven.

1 I was glad because they said to me, We will go into the house of the Lord.

2Our feet have been standing in thy gates, O Jerusalem!

2Behold as the eyes of servants are on the hands of their masters, As the eyes of the handmaid are on the hands of her mistress: so are our eyes unto the Lord our God, until he have mercy on us.

2At last our feet were inside your doors, O Jerusalem.

3Jerusalem--the builded one--<FI> Is<Fi> as a city that is joined to itself together.

3Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: for we are greatly filled with contempt.

3O Jerusalem, you are like a town which is well joined together;

4For thither have tribes gone up, Tribes of Jah, companies of Israel, To give thanks to the name of Jehovah.

4For our soul is greatly filled: we are a reproach to the rich, and contempt to the proud.

4To which the tribes went up, even the tribes of the Lord, for a witness to Israel, to give praise to the name of the Lord.

5For there have sat thrones of judgment, Thrones of the house of David.

5For there seats for the judges were placed, even the rulers' seats of the line of David.

6Ask ye the peace of Jerusalem, At rest are those loving thee.

6O make prayers for the peace of Jerusalem; may they whose love is given to you do well.

7Peace is in thy bulwark, rest in thy high places,

7May peace be inside your walls, and wealth in your noble houses.

8For the sake of my brethren and my companions, Let me speak, I pray thee, `Peace <FI>be<Fi> in thee.'

9For the sake of the house of Jehovah our God, I seek good for thee!
