1To thee have I lifted up my eyes, who dwellest in heaven.
1 I was glad because they said to me, We will go into the house of the Lord.
1A Song of the Ascents, by David. I have rejoiced in those saying to me, `To the house of Jehovah we go.'
2Behold as the eyes of servants are on the hands of their masters, As the eyes of the handmaid are on the hands of her mistress: so are our eyes unto the Lord our God, until he have mercy on us.
2At last our feet were inside your doors, O Jerusalem.
2Our feet have been standing in thy gates, O Jerusalem!
3Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: for we are greatly filled with contempt.
3O Jerusalem, you are like a town which is well joined together;
3Jerusalem--the builded one--<FI> Is<Fi> as a city that is joined to itself together.
4For our soul is greatly filled: we are a reproach to the rich, and contempt to the proud.
4To which the tribes went up, even the tribes of the Lord, for a witness to Israel, to give praise to the name of the Lord.
4For thither have tribes gone up, Tribes of Jah, companies of Israel, To give thanks to the name of Jehovah.
