1When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a barbarous people:
1Praise ye Jah! Praise, ye servants of Jehovah. Praise the name of Jehovah.
1Hallelujah! Praise, ye servants of Jehovah, praise the name of Jehovah.
1Praise ye Jehovah. Praise, O ye servants of Jehovah, Praise the name of Jehovah.
2Judea was made his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
2The name of Jehovah is blessed, From henceforth, and unto the age.
2 Blessed be the name of Jehovah, from this time forth and for evermore!
2Blessed be the name of Jehovah From this time forth and for evermore.
3The sea saw and fled: Jordan was turned back.
3From the rising of the sun unto its going in, Praised <FI>is<Fi> the name of Jehovah.
3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, let Jehovah's name be praised.
3From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same Jehovah’s name is to be praised.
4The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like the lambs of the flock.
4High above all nations <FI>is<Fi> Jehovah, Above the heavens <FI>is<Fi> his honour.
4 Jehovah is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens.
4Jehovah is high above all nations, And his glory above the heavens.
5What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou didst flee: and thou, O Jordan, that thou wast turned back?
5Who <FI>is<Fi> as Jehovah our God, He is exalting <FI>Himself<Fi> to sit?
5 Who is like unto Jehovah ourGod, who hath placed his dwelling on high;
5Who is like unto Jehovah our God, That hath his seat on high,
6Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and ye hills, like lambs of the flock?
6He is humbling <FI>Himself<Fi> to look On the heavens and on the earth.
6 Who humbleth himself to look on the heavens and on the earth?
6That humbleth himself to behold The things that arein heaven and in the earth?
7At the presence of the Lord the earth was moved, at the presence of the God of Jacob:
7He is raising up from the dust the poor, From a dunghill He exalteth the needy.
7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust; from the dung-hill he lifteth up the needy,
7He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, And lifteth up the needy from the dunghill;
8Who turned the rock into pools of water, and the stony hill into fountains of waters.
8To cause to sit with princes, With the princes of His people.
8 To set [him] among nobles, among the nobles of his people.
8That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.
9Not to us, O Lord, not to us; but to thy name give glory.
9Causing the barren one of the house to sit, A joyful mother of sons; praise ye Jah!
9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, [as] a joyful mother of sons. Hallelujah!
9He maketh the barren woman to keep house, And to bea joyful mother of children. Praise ye Jehovah.
10For thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake: lest the Gentiles should say: Where is their God?
