What Matthew 15:30 means

Following His return to Galilee, large crowds gather around Jesus, bringing with them a multitude of sick and suffering people: the lame, blind, dumb (mute), maimed (disabled in various ways), and many others. They lay them at His feet, a posture of humility and desperate appeal, and Jesus compassionately heals them all. This outpouring of divine power testifies to His identity as the Messiah and His boundless mercy towards the afflicted, displaying His authority over all sickness and infirmity.

Context

This verse immediately follows Jesus's return to the Sea of Galilee (verse 29), illustrating the immediate draw of His ministry. It describes the massive influx of sick people to Him, setting the scene for His widespread healing ministry among the large crowds. This widespread healing serves as the direct prelude to, and justification for, His compassionately feeding the multitude in the verses to come.

v.29And Jesus departed thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there.

v.30This passage

v.31insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing: and they glorified the God of Israel.
