1And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

1And the Lord said to Moses,

1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

1And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2Thou shalt say also to the children of Israel, Every one of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel, that giveth of his seed unto Molech, shall certainly be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

2Again, say to the children of Israel, If any man of the children of Israel, or any other man living in Israel, gives his offspring to Molech, he is certainly to be put to death: he is to be stoned by the people of the land;

2Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: If any man of the children Israel, or of the strangers that dwell in Israel, give of his seed to the idol Moloch, dying let him die. The people of the land shall stone him.

2`And unto the sons of Israel thou dost say, Any man of the sons of Israel, and of the sojourners who is sojourning in Israel, who giveth of his seed to the Molech, is certainly put to death; the people of the land do stone him with stones;

3And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, so as to make my sanctuary unclean, and to profane my holy name.

3And my face will be turned against that man, and he will be cut off from his people; because he has given his offspring to Molech, making my holy place unclean, and making my holy name common.

3And I will set my face against him: and I will cut him off from the midst of his people, because he hath given of his seed to Moloch, and hath defiled my sanctuary, and profaned my holy name.

3and I--I set My face against that man, and have cut him off from the midst of his people, for of his seed he hath given to the Molech, so as to defile My sanctuary, and to pollute My holy name.

4And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from that man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, that they kill him not,

4And if the people of the land do not take note of that man when he gives his offspring to Molech, and do not put him to death,

4And if the people of the land neglecting, and as it were little regarding my commandment, let alone the man that hath given of his seed to Moloch, and will not kill him:

4`And if the people of the land really hide their eyes from that man, in his giving of his seed to the Molech, so as not to put him to death,

5then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.

5Then my face will be turned against him and his family, and he and all those who do evil with him will be cut off from among their people.

5I will set my face against that man, and his kindred, and will cut off both him and all that consented with him, to commit fornication with Moloch, out of the midst of their people.

5then I have set My face against that man, and against his family, and have cut him off, and all who are going a-whoring after him, even going a-whoring after the Molech, from the midst of their people.

6— And the soul that turneth unto necromancers and unto soothsayers, to go a whoring after them, I will set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

6And whoever goes after those who make use of spirits and wonder-workers, doing evil with them, against him will my face be turned, and he will be cut off from among his people.

6The soul that shall go aside after magicians, and soothsayers, and shall commit fornication with them: I will set my face against that soul, and destroy it out of the midst of its people.

6`And the person who turneth unto those having familiar spirits, and unto the wizards, to go a-whoring after them, I have even set My face against that person, and cut him off from the midst of his people.

7Hallow yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am Jehovah yourGod.

7So make and keep yourselves holy, for I am the Lord your God.

7Sanctify yourselves, and be ye holy: because I am the Lord your God.

7`And ye have sanctified yourselves, and ye have been holy, for I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah your God;

8And ye shall observe my statutes, and do them: I am Jehovah who hallow you.

8And keep my rules and do them: I am the Lord, who make you holy.

8Keep my precepts, and do them. I am the Lord that sanctify you.

8and ye have kept My statutes and have done them; I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah, sanctifying you.

22Keep my laws and my judgments, and do them: lest the land into which you are to enter to dwell therein, vomit you also out.

22`And ye have kept all My statutes, and all My judgments, and have done them, and the land vomiteth you not out whither I am bringing you in to dwell in it;

23And ye shall not walk in the customs of the nation which I am casting out before you; for all these things have they done, and they became an abomination to me.

23And do not keep the rules of the nations which I am driving out before you; for they did all these things, and for that reason my soul was turned against them.

24But I have said to you, You will take their land and I will give it to you for your heritage, a land flowing with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God who have made you separate from all other peoples.

24But to you I say: Possess their land which I will give you for an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the Lord your God, who have separated you from other people.

24and I say to you, Ye--ye do possess their ground, and I--I give it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey; I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah your God, who hath separated you from the peoples.

25And ye shall make a separation between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean, and ye shall not make yourselves an abomination by beast, or by fowl, or by anything that creepeth on the ground which I have separated for you, declaring [it] as unclean.

25So then, make division between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the clean bird and the unclean: do not make yourselves disgusting by any beast or bird or anything which goes flat on the earth, which has been marked by me as unclean for you.

25Therefore do you also separate the clean beast from the unclean, and the clean fowl from the unclean. Defile not your souls with beasts, or birds, or any things that move on the earth, and which I have shewn you to be unclean:

25`And ye have made separation between the pure beasts and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the pure, and ye do not make yourselves abominable by beast or by fowl, or by anything which creepeth <FI>on<Fi> the ground which I have separated to you for unclean;

26And ye shall be holy unto me; for I Jehovah am holy, and have separated you from the peoples to be mine.
