1Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
1Hear ye this, O priests, and hearken, O ye house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king: for there is a judgment against you, because you have been a snare to them whom you should have watched over and a net spread upon Thabor.
1Hear this, ye priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ear, O house of the king: for this judgment is for you; for ye have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
1`Hear this, O priests, and attend, O house of Israel, And, O house of the king, give ear, For the judgment <FI>is<Fi> for you, For, a snare ye have been on Mizpah, And a net spread out on Tabor.
2And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.
2And you have turned aside victims into the depth and I am the teacher of them all.
2And they have plunged themselves in the corruption of apostasy, but I will be a chastiser of them all.
2And to slaughter sinners have gone deep, And I <FI>am<Fi> a fetter to them all.
3I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
3I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me for now Ephraim hath committed fornication, Israel is defiled.
3I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me; for now, Ephraim, thou hast committed whoredom; Israel is defiled.
3I have known Ephraim, And Israel hath not been hid from me, For now thou hast gone a-whoring, Ephraim, Defiled is Israel.
4They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the Lord.
4They will not set their thoughts to return to their God: for the spirit of fornication is in the midst of them, and they have not known the Lord.
4Their doings do not allow them to return unto theirGod; for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they know not Jehovah.
4They give not up their habitual doings, To turn back unto their God, For a spirit of whoredoms <FI>is<Fi> in their midst, And Jehovah they have not known.
5And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.
5And the pride of Israel shall answer in his face: and Israel, and Ephraim shall fall in their iniquity, Juda also shall fall with them.
5And Israel's pride doth testify to his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall fall by their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.
5And humbled hath been the excellency of Israel to his face, And Israel and Ephraim stumble by their iniquity, Stumbled also hath Judah with them.
6They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the Lord; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
6With their flocks and with their herds, they shall go to seek the Lord, and shall not find him: he is withdrawn from them.
6They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah; but they shall not find [him]: he hath withdrawn himself from them.
6With their flock and with their herd, They go to seek Jehovah, and do not find, He hath withdrawn from them.
7They have dealt treacherously against the Lord: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
7They have transgressed against the Lord: for they have begotten children that are strangers: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
7They have dealt treacherously against Jehovah; for they have begotten strange children: now shall the new moon devour them, with their allotted possessions.
7Against Jehovah they dealt treacherously, For strange sons they have begotten, Now consume them doth a month <FI>with<Fi> their portions.
8Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Beth–aven, after thee, O Benjamin.
8Blow ye the cornet in Gabaa, the trumpet in Rama: howl ye in Bethaven, behind thy back, O Benjamin.
8Blow the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah; cry aloud [at] Beth-aven: behind thee, O Benjamin!
8Blow ye a cornet in Gibeah, a trumpet in Ramah, Shout, O Beth-Aven, after thee, O Benjamin.
9Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.
9Ephraim shall be in desolation in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel I have shewn that which shall surely be.
9Ephraim shall be a desolation in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which is sure.
9Ephraim is for a desolation in a day of reproof, Among the tribes of Israel I have made known a sure thing.
10The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
10The princes of Juda are become as they that take up the bound: I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
10The princes of Judah are become like them that remove the landmark: I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
10Princes of Judah have been as those removing a border, On them I do pour out as water My wrath.
11Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
11Ephraim is under oppression, and broken in judgment: because he began to go after filthiness.
11Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because in selfwill he walked after the commandment [of man].
11Oppressed is Ephraim, broken in judgment, When he pleased he went after the command.
12Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
12And I will be like a moth to Ephraim: and like rottenness to the house of Juda.
12And I will be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
12And I <FI>am<Fi> as a moth to Ephraim, And as a rotten thing to the house of Judah.
13When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
13And Ephraim saw his sickness, and Juda his band: and Ephraim went to the Assyrian, and sent to the avenging king: and he shall not be able to heal you, neither shall he be able to take off the band from you.
13When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his sore, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb; but he was unable to heal you, nor hath he removed your sore.
13And see doth Ephraim his sickness, and Judah his wound, And Ephraim goeth unto Asshur, And sendeth unto a warlike king, And he is not able to give healing to you, Nor doth he remove from you a scar.
14For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
14For I will be like a lioness to Ephraim, and like a lion's whelp to the house of Juda: I, I will catch, and go: I will take away, and there is none that can rescue.
14For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah. I, I will tear and go away; I will carry off, and there shall be none to deliver.
14For I <FI>am<Fi> as a lion to Ephraim, And as a young lion to the house of Judah, I--I tear and go, I bear away, and there is no deliverer.
15I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
15I will go and return to my place: until you are consumed, and seek my face.
15I will go away, I will return to my place, till they acknowledge their trespass, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
15I go--I turn back unto My place, Till that they are desolate, and have sought My face. In their distress they do seek Me speedily!'
