What Hebrews 10:35 means
They are exhorted not to cast away their boldness, since it carries a great reward. Confidence here means courageous trust in Christ that expresses itself in public allegiance and steadfast obedience. Throwing it away would squander both present peace and future recompense. The writer ties assurance to perseverance: hold fast your confidence, for God honors it. The appeal is both pastoral and eschatological—keep your nerve, because God sees and will reward those who cling to Christ to the end. Boldness is precious; it is the fruit of Christ’s finished work and the path to promised joy.

Context
After recalling the readers’ past endurance (vv. 32–34), verse 35 draws a conclusion: do not abandon your bold confidence, because it brings great reward. This turn looks forward rather than backward. Verse 36 will add the necessity of patience to obtain the promise. Verses 37–38 will anchor this call in the certainty of the coming one and the principle that the righteous live by faith, not by shrinking back. Verse 39 will close with a corporate affirmation of persevering faith.
