What Ezra 2:52 means
The children of Bazluth, Mehida, and Harsha are named among the Nethinim. These designations preserve the heritage of service families and ensure that their roles could be traced and maintained. As with prior entries, the focus is on the completeness of restoration: every level of temple operation—from sacrifice to song to support—was accounted for. Such thoroughness reflects a community intent on careful obedience and ordered worship.

Context
The Nethinim list approaches its end as names continue to accumulate. By recording many families, the text shows that practical service in the temple was distributed widely. After finishing the Nethinim (vv. 53–54 still to come), the narrative will present the children of Solomon’s servants (vv. 55–58), followed by attention to individuals with uncertain genealogy (vv. 59–63). These sections together secure the integrity of temple service.
