Exodus 24

1And he said unto Moses, Come up unto Jehovah, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off:

1And unto Moses He said, `Come up unto Jehovah, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and ye have bowed yourselves afar off;'

1And he said to Moses, Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, and Nadab and Abihu and seventy of the chiefs of Israel; and give me worship from a distance.

1And he said to Moses: Come up to the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab and Abiu, and seventy of the ancients of Israel, and you shall adore afar off.

2and Moses alone shall come near unto Jehovah; but they shall not come near; neither shall the people go up with him.

2and Moses hath drawn nigh by himself unto Jehovah; and they draw not nigh, and the people go not up with him.

2And Moses only may come near to the Lord; but the others are not to come near, and the people may not come up with them.

2And Moses alone shall come up to the Lord, but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people come up with him.

3And Moses came and told the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the ordinances: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which Jehovah hath spoken will we do.

3And Moses cometh in, and recounteth to the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the judgments, and all the people answer--one voice, and say, `All the words which Jehovah hath spoken we do.'

3Then Moses came and put before the people all the words of the Lord and his laws: and all the people, answering with one voice, said, Whatever the Lord has said we will do.

3So Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice: We will do all the words of the Lord, which he hath spoken.

4And Moses wrote all the words of Jehovah, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the mount, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

4And Moses writeth all the words of Jehovah, and riseth early in the morning, and buildeth an altar under the hill, and twelve standing pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel;

4Then Moses put down in writing all the words of the Lord, and he got up early in the morning and made an altar at the foot of the mountain, with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.

4And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord: and rising in the morning, he built an altar at the foot of the mount, and twelve titles according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

5And he sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt-offerings, and sacrificed peace-offerings of oxen unto Jehovah.

5and he sendeth the youths of the sons of Israel, and they cause burnt-offerings to ascend, and sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings to Jehovah--calves.

5And he sent some of the young men of the children of Israel to make burned offerings and peace-offerings of oxen to the Lord.

5And he sent young men of the children of Israel, and they offered holocausts, and sacrificed pacific victims of calves to the Lord.

6And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

6And Moses taketh half of the blood, and putteth in basins, and half of the blood hath he sprinkled on the altar;

6And Moses took half the blood and put it in basins; draining out half of the blood over the altar.

6Then Moses took half of the blood, and put it into bowls; and the rest he poured upon the altar.

7And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that Jehovah hath spoken will we do, and be obedient.

7and he taketh the Book of the Covenant, and proclaimeth in the ears of the people, and they say, `All that which Jehovah hath spoken we do, and obey.'

7And he took the book of the agreement, reading it in the hearing of the people: and they said, Everything which the Lord has said we will do, and we will keep his laws.

7And taking the book of the covenant, he read it in the hearing of the people: and they said: All things that the Lord hath spoken, we will do, we will be obedient.

8And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which Jehovah hath made with you concerning all these words.

8And Moses taketh the blood, and sprinkleth on the people, and saith, `Lo, the blood of the covenant which Jehovah hath made with you, concerning all these things.'

8Then Moses took the blood and let it come on the people, and said, This blood is the sign of the agreement which the Lord has made with you in these words.

8And he took the blood and sprinkled it upon the people, and he said: This is the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.

9Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:

9And Moses goeth up, Aaron also, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,

10and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and as it were the very heaven for clearness.

10and they see the God of Israel, and under His feet <FI>is<Fi> as the white work of the sapphire, and as the substance of the heavens for purity;

10And they saw the God of Israel; and under his feet there was, as it seemed, a jewelled floor, clear as the heavens.

10And they saw the God of Israel: and under his feet as it were a work of sapphire stone, and as the heaven, when clear.

11And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: and they beheld God, and did eat and drink.

11and unto those of the sons of Israel who are near He hath not put forth His hand, and they see God, and eat and drink.

11And he put not his hand on the chiefs of the children of Israel: they saw God, and took food and drink.

11Neither did he lay his hand upon those of the children of Israel, that retired afar off, and they saw God, and they did eat and drink.

12And Jehovah said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee the tables of stone, and the law and the commandment, which I have written, that thou mayest teach them.

12And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Come up unto Me to the mount, and be there, and I give to thee the tables of stone, and the law, and the command, which I have written to direct them.'

12And the Lord said to Moses, Come up to me on the mountain, and take your place there: and I will give you the stones on which I have put in writing the law and the orders, so that you may give the people knowledge of them.

12And the Lord said to Moses: Come up to me into the mount, and be there; and I will give thee tables of stone, and the law, and the commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

13And Moses rose up, and Joshua his minister: and Moses went up into the mount of God.

13And Moses riseth--Joshua his minister also--and Moses goeth up unto the mount of God;

13Then Moses and Joshua his servant got up; and Moses went up into the mountain of God.

13Moses rose up, and his minister Josue: and Moses going up into the mount of God,

14And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: whosoever hath a cause, let him come near unto them.

14and unto the elders he hath said, `Abide ye for us in this <FI>place<Fi> , until that we turn back unto you, and lo, Aaron and Hur <FI>are<Fi> with you--he who hath matters doth come nigh unto them.'

14And he said to the chiefs, Keep your places here till we come back to you: Aaron and Hur are with you; if anyone has any cause let him go to them.

14Said to the ancients: Wait ye here till we return to you. You have Aaron and Hur with you: if any question shall arise, you shall refer it to them.

15And Moses went up into the mount, and the cloud covered the mount.

15And Moses goeth up unto the mount, and the cloud covereth the mount;

15And Moses went up into the mountain, and it was covered by the cloud.

15And when Moses was gone up, a cloud covered the mount.

16And the glory of Jehovah abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

16and the honour of Jehovah doth tabernacle on mount Sinai, and the cloud covereth it six days, and He calleth unto Moses on the seventh day from the midst of the cloud.

16And the glory of the Lord was resting on Mount Sinai, and the cloud was over it for six days; and on the seventh day he said Moses' name out of the cloud.

16And the glory of the Lord dwelt upon Sinai, covering it with a cloud six days: and the seventh day he called him out of the midst of the cloud.

17And the appearance of the glory of Jehovah was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.

17And the appearance of the honour of Jehovah <FI>is<Fi> as a consuming fire on the top of the mount, before the eyes of the sons of Israel;

17And the glory of the Lord was like a flame on the top of the mountain before the eyes of the children of Israel.

17And the sight of the glory of the Lord, was like a burning fire upon the top of the mount, in the eyes of the children of Israel.

18And Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

18and Moses goeth into the midst of the cloud, and goeth up unto the mount, and Moses is on the mount forty days and forty nights.

18And Moses went up the mountain, into the cloud, and was there for forty days and forty nights.

18And Moses entering into the midst of the cloud, went up into the mountain: And he was there forty days and forty nights.
