1Masters, give your servants what is right and equal, conscious that you have a Master in heaven.
1Masters, do to your servants that which is just and equal: knowing that you also have a master in heaven.
1Masters, give to bondmen what is just and fair, knowing that ye also have a Master in [the] heavens.
2Give yourselves to prayer at all times, keeping watch with praise;
2Be instant in prayer: watching in it with thanksgiving.
2Persevere in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving;
3And making prayer for us, that God may give us an open door for the preaching of the word, the secret of Christ, for which I am now in chains;
3Praying withal for us also, that God may open unto us a door of speech to speak the mystery of Christ (for which also I am bound):
3praying at the same time for us also, thatGod may open to us a door of the word to speak the mystery of Christ, on account of which also I am bound,
4So that I may make it clear, as it is right for me to do.
4That I may make it manifest as I ought to speak.
4to the end that I may make it manifest as I ought to speak.
5Be wise in your behaviour to those who are outside, making good use of the time.
5Walk with wisdom towards them that are without, redeeming the time.
5Walk in wisdom towards those without, redeeming opportunities.
6Let your talk be with grace, mixed with salt, so that you may be able to give an answer to everyone.
6Let your speech be always in grace seasoned with salt: that you may know how you ought to answer every man.
6[Let] your word [be] always with grace, seasoned with salt, [so as] to know how ye ought to answer each one.
7Tychicus will give you news of all my business: he is a dear brother and true servant and helper in the word;
7All the things that concern me, Tychicus, our dearest brother and faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord, will make known to you.
7Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-bondman in [the] Lord, will make known to you all that concerns me;
8And I have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you may have news of how we are, and so that he may give your hearts comfort;
8What I have sent to you for this same purpose, that he may know the things that concern you and comfort your hearts:
8whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that he might know your state, and that he might encourage your hearts:
9And with him I have sent Onesimus, the true and well-loved brother, who is one of you. They will give you word of everything which is taking place here.
9With Onesimus, a most beloved and faithful brother, who is one of you. All things that are done here, they shall make known to you.
9with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is [one] of you. They shall make known to you everything here.

11And Jesus that is called Justus: who are of the circumcision. These only are my helpers, in the kingdom of God: who have been a comfort to me.
11and Jesus called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These [are the] only fellow-workers for the kingdom ofGod who have been a consolation to me.
12Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you his love, ever taking thought for you in his prayers, that you may be complete and fully certain of all the purpose of God.
12Epaphras saluteth you, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, who is always solicitous for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and full in all the will of God.

13For I bear him witness that he labours much for you, and them in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.

17Say to Archippus, See that you do the work which the Lord has given you to do.
17And say to Archippus: Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
17And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in [the] Lord, to the end that thou fulfil it.
