Bible Verses for the Fear of Losing a Loved One

To love someone is to fear losing them. Scripture doesn't talk you out of love; it teaches you to hold the people you love with open hands. These verses are for the parent watching the clock, the child watching a parent fade, the spouse watching the diagnosis come.

Pray this

Speak their name to God, then say: 'They are yours before they were mine. I trust you with them.'

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won't be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas."

"Don't be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you."

"Don't let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me."

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me."

"But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope."
