1And I stood upon the sand of the sea; and I saw a beast rising out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and upon its horns ten diadems, and upon its heads names of blasphemy.
1And he took his place on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads unholy names.
1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and I saw out of the sea a beast coming up, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon its horns ten diadems, and upon its heads a name of evil speaking,
2And the beast which I saw was like to a leopardess, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as a lion's mouth; and the dragon gave to it his power, and his throne, and great authority;
2And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power and his seat and great authority.
2and the beast that I saw was like to a leopard, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as the mouth of a lion, and the dragon did give to it his power, and his throne, and great authority.
3and one of his heads [was] as slain to death, and his wound of death had been healed: and the whole earth wondered after the beast.
3And I saw one of his heads as if it had been given a death-wound; and his death-wound was made well: and all the earth was wondering at the beast.
3And I saw one of its heads as slain to death, and its deadly stroke was healed, and all the earth did wonder after the beast,
4And they did homage to the dragon, because he gave the authority to the beast; and they did homage to the beast, saying, Who [is] like to the beast? and who can make war with it?
4And they gave worship to the dragon, because he gave authority to the beast; and worshipping the beast, they said, Who is like the beast? and who is able to go to war with him?
4and they did bow before the dragon who did give authority to the beast, and they did bow before the beast, saying, `Who <FI>is<Fi> like to the beast? who is able to war with it?'
5And there was given to it a mouth, speaking great things and blasphemies; and there was given to it authority to pursue its career forty-two months.
5And there was given to him a mouth to say words of pride against God; and there was given to him authority to go on for forty-two months.
5And there was given to it a mouth speaking great things, and evil-speakings, and there was given to it authority to make war forty-two months,
6And it opened its mouth for blasphemies againstGod, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle, and those who have their tabernacle in the heaven.
6And his mouth was open to say evil against God, and against his name and his Tent, even against those who are in heaven.
6and it did open its mouth for evil-speaking toward God, to speak evil of His name, and of His tabernacle, and of those who in the heaven tabernacle,
7And there was given to it to make war with the saints, and to overcome them; and there was given to it authority over every tribe, and people, and tongue, and nation;
7And it was given to him to make war on the saints and to overcome them: and there was given to him authority over every tribe and people and language and nation.
7and there was given to it to make war with the saints, and to overcome them, and there was given to it authority over every tribe, and tongue, and nation.
8and all that dwell on the earth shall do it homage, [every one] whose name had not been written from [the] founding of [the] world in the book of life of the slain Lamb.
8And all who are on the earth will give him worship, everyone whose name has not been from the first in the book of life of the Lamb who was put to death.
8And bow before it shall all who are dwelling upon the land, whose names have not been written in the scroll of the life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world;
9If any one has an ear, let him hear.
9If any man has ears, let him give ear.
9if any one hath an ear--let him hear:
10If any one [leads] into captivity, he goes into captivity. If any one shall kill with [the] sword, he must with [the] sword be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.
10If any man sends others into prison, into prison he will go: if any man puts to death with the sword, with the sword will he be put to death. Here is the quiet strength and the faith of the saints.
10if any one a captivity doth gather, into captivity he doth go away; if any one by sword doth kill, it behoveth him by sword to be killed; here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.
11And I saw another beast rising out of the earth; and it had two horns like to a lamb, and spake as a dragon;
11And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and his voice was like that of a dragon.
11And I saw another beast coming up out of the land, and it had two horns, like a lamb, and it was speaking as a dragon,
12and it exercises all the authority of the first beast before it, and causes the earth and those that dwell in it to do homage to the first beast, whose wound of death was healed.
12And he makes use of all the authority of the first beast before his eyes. And he makes the earth and those who are in it give worship to the first beast, whose death-wound was made well.
12and all the authority of the first beast doth it do before it, and it maketh the land and those dwelling in it that they shall bow before the first beast, whose deadly stroke was healed,
13And it works great signs, that it should cause even fire to come down from heaven to the earth before men.
13And he does great signs, even making fire come down from heaven on the earth before the eyes of men.
13and it doth great signs, that fire also it may make to come down from the heaven to the earth before men,
14And it deceives those that dwell upon the earth by reason of the signs which it was given to it to work before the beast, saying to those that dwell upon the earth to make an image to the beast, which has the wound of the sword, and lived.
14And those who are on the earth are turned from the true way by him through the signs which he was given power to do before the beast; giving orders to those who are on the earth to make an image to the beast, who was wounded by the sword, and came to life.
14and it leadeth astray those dwelling on the land, because of the signs that were given it to do before the beast, saying to those dwelling upon the land to make an image to the beast that hath the stroke of the sword and did live,
15And it was given to it to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should also speak, and should cause that as many as should not do homage to the image of the beast should be killed.
15And he had power to give breath to the image of the beast, so that words might come from the image of the beast, and that he might have all those who did not give worship to the image of the beast put to death.
15and there was given to it to give a spirit to the image of the beast, that also the image of the beast may speak, and <FI>that<Fi> it may cause as many as shall not bow before the image of the beast, that they may be killed.
16And it causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bondmen, that they should give them a mark upon their right hand or upon their forehead;
16And he gives to all, small and great, the poor and those who have wealth, the free and those who are not free, a mark on their right hand or on their brows;
16And it maketh all, the small, and the great, and the rich, and the poor, and the freemen, and the servants, that it may give to them a mark upon their right hand or upon their foreheads,
17and that no one should be able to buy or sell save he that had the mark, the name of the beast, or the number of its name.
17So that no man might be able to do trade but he who has the mark, even the name of the beast or the number of his name.
17and that no one may be able to buy, or to sell, except he who is having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18Here is wisdom. He that has understanding let him count the number of the beast: for it is a man's number; and its number [is] six hundred [and] sixty-six.
18Here is wisdom. He who has knowledge let him get the number of the beast; because it is the number of a man: and his number is Six hundred and sixty-six.
18Here is the wisdom! He who is having the understanding, let him count the number of the beast, for the number of a man it is, and its number <FI>is<Fi> six hundred and sixty six.
