Psalms 96

1Oh sing unto Jehovah a new song: Sing unto Jehovah, all the earth.

1Sing a new song to the LORD; let everyone on earth sing to the LORD.

2Sing unto Jehovah, bless his name; Show forth his salvation from day to day.

2Sing to the LORD and praise his name; tell the good news of his salvation every single day.

3Declare his glory among the nations, His marvellous works among all the peoples.

3Tell the nations about his glory; tell all people about the amazing things he has done.

4For great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised: He is to be feared above all gods.

4For the LORD is great and deserves the highest praise; he should be feared more than all other gods.

5For all the gods of the peoples are idols; But Jehovah made the heavens.

5The gods of other nations are just worthless idols, but the LORD is the one who created the heavens.

6Honor and majesty are before him: Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

6Splendor and majesty surround him; power and beauty fill his holy place.

7Ascribe unto Jehovah, ye kindreds of the peoples, Ascribe unto Jehovah glory and strength.

7Give the LORD credit, you families of the nations; acknowledge the LORD’s glory and strength.

8Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name: Bring an offering, and come into his courts.

8Give the LORD the glory his name deserves; bring an offering and come into his courtyards.

9Oh worship Jehovah in holy array: Tremble before him, all the earth.

9Worship the LORD in the beauty of his holiness; let the whole earth tremble before him.

10Say among the nations, Jehovah reigneth: The world also is established that it cannot be moved: He will judge the peoples with equity.

10Tell the nations, “The LORD rules as king!” The world is set firmly and cannot be shaken; he will judge all people fairly.

11Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;

11Let the heavens be glad and the earth be joyful; let the ocean and everything in it roar with praise.

12Let the field exult, and all that is therein; Then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy

12Let the fields and everything in them celebrate; then all the trees in the forest will sing for joy.

13Before Jehovah; for he cometh, For he cometh to judge the earth: He will judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with his truth.

13They will sing before the LORD because he is coming; he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice and its people with his truth.
