1 My song will be of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make his faith clear to all generations.

1A prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.

1 I will sing of the loving-kindness of Jehovah for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness from generation to generation.

2For you have said, Mercy will be made strong for ever; my faith will be unchanging in the heavens.

2Before the mountains were made, or the earth and the world was formed; from eternity and to eternity thou art God.

2 For I said, Loving-kindness shall be built up for ever; in the very heavens wilt thou establish thy faithfulness.

3I have made an agreement with the man of my selection, I have made an oath to David my servant;

3Turn not man away to be brought low: and thou hast said: Be converted, O ye sons of men.

3 I have made a covenant with mine elect, I have sworn unto David my servant:

4I will make your seed go on for ever, your kingdom will be strong through all generations. (Selah.)

4For a thousand years in thy sight are as yesterday, which is past. And as a watch in the night,

4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne from generation to generation. Selah.

5In heaven let them give praise for your wonders, O Lord; and your unchanging faith among the saints.

5Things that are counted nothing, shall their years be.

5 And the heavens shall celebrate thy wonders, O Jehovah, and thy faithfulness in the congregation of the saints.

6For who is there in the heavens in comparison with the Lord? who is like the Lord among the sons of the gods?

6In the morning man shall grow up like grass; in the morning he shall flourish and pass away: in the evening he shall fall, grow dry, and wither.

6 For who in the heaven can be compared to Jehovah? [who] among the sons of the mighty shall be likened to Jehovah?

7God is greatly to be feared among the saints, and to be honoured over all those who are about him.

7For in thy wrath we have fainted away: and are troubled in thy indignation.

7 God is greatly to be feared in the council of the saints, and terrible for all that are round about him.

8O Lord God of armies, who is strong like you, O Jah? and your unchanging faith is round about you.

8Thou hast set our iniquities before thy eyes: our life in the light of thy countenance.

8 Jehovah,God of hosts, who is like unto thee, the strong Jah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.

9You have rule over the sea in storm; when its waves are troubled, you make them calm.

9For all our days are spent; and in thy wrath we have fainted away. Our years shall be considered as a spider:

9 Thou rulest the pride of the sea: when its waves arise, thou stillest them.

10Rahab was crushed by you like one wounded to death; with your strong arm you put to flight all your haters.

10The days of our years in them are threescore and ten years. But if in the strong they be fourscore years: and what is more of them is labour and sorrow. For mildness is come upon us: and we shall be corrected.

10 Thou hast crushed Rahab as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.

11Yours are the heavens, and the earth is yours; you have made the world, and everything which is in it.

11Who knoweth the power of thy anger, and for thy fear

11 Thine are the heavens, the earth also is thine; the world and its fulness, thou hast founded them.

12You have made the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon are sounding with joy at your name.

12Can number thy wrath? So make thy right hand known: and men learned in heart, in wisdom.

12 The north and the south, thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon triumph in thy name.

13Yours is an arm of power; strong is your hand and high your right hand.

13Return, O Lord, how long? and be entreated in favour of thy servants.

13 Thine is the arm of might: strong is thy hand, high is thy right hand.

14The seat of your kingdom is resting on righteousness and right judging: mercy and good faith come before your face.

14We are filled in the morning with thy mercy: and we have rejoiced, and are delighted all our days.

14 Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of thy throne; loving-kindness and truth go before thy face.

15Happy are the people who have knowledge of the holy cry: the light of your face, O Lord, will be shining on their way.

15We have rejoiced for the days in which thou hast humbled us: for the years in which we have seen evils.

15 Blessed is the people that know the shout of joy: they walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.

16In your name will they have joy all the day: in your righteousness will they be lifted up.

16Look upon thy servants and upon their works: and direct their children.

16 In thy name are they joyful all the day, and in thy righteousness are they exalted.

17For you are the glory of their strength; in your pleasure will our horn be lifted up.

17And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and direct thou the works of our hands over us; yea, the work of our hands do thou direct.

17 For thou art the glory of their strength; and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

18For our breastplate is the Lord; and our king is the Holy One of Israel's.

21 With whom my hand shall be established; and mine arm shall strengthen him.

22The deceit of those who are against him will not overcome him; he will not be troubled by the sons of evil.

22(not in this translation)

22 No enemy shall exact upon him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him;

23I will have those who are against him broken before his face, and his haters will be crushed under my blows.

23(not in this translation)

23 But I will beat down his adversaries before his face, and will smite them that hate him.

24But my faith and my mercy will be with him; and in my name will his horn be lifted up.

24(not in this translation)

24 And my faithfulness and my loving-kindness shall be with him, and by my name shall his horn be exalted.

25I will put his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

25(not in this translation)

25 And I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

26He will say to me, You are my father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.

27And I will make him the first of my sons, most high over the kings of the earth.

27 And as to me, I will make him firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.

28I will keep my mercy for him for ever; my agreement with him will not be changed.

30If his children give up my law, and are not ruled by my decisions;

30(not in this translation)

30 If his sons forsake my law, and walk not in mine ordinances;

31If my rules are broken, and my orders are not kept;

31(not in this translation)

31 If they profane my statutes, and keep not my commandments:

32Then I will send punishment on them for their sin; my rod will be the reward of their evil-doing.

32(not in this translation)

32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

33But I will not take away my mercy from him, and will not be false to my faith.

33(not in this translation)

33 Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor belie my faithfulness;

34I will be true to my agreement; the things which have gone out of my lips will not be changed.

34(not in this translation)

34 My covenant will I not profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

35(not in this translation)

36His seed will not come to an end for ever; the seat of his kingdom will be like the sun before me.

36(not in this translation)

36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me;

37It will be fixed for ever like the moon; and the witness in heaven is true. (Selah.)

37(not in this translation)

37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and the witness in the sky is firm. Selah.

38But you have put him away in disgust; you have been angry with the king of your selection.

38(not in this translation)

38 But thou hast rejected and cast off; thou hast been very wroth with thine anointed:

39You have made your agreement with your servant of no effect: you have had no respect for his crown, it has come down even to the earth.

39(not in this translation)

39 Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant; thou hast profaned his crown to the ground:

40All his walls are broken down; you have given his strong towers to destruction.

40(not in this translation)

40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.

41All those who come by take away his goods; he is laughed at by his neighbours.

43His sword is turned back; you have not been his support in the fight.

43(not in this translation)

44You have put an end to his glory: the seat of his kingdom has been levelled to the earth.

44(not in this translation)

48(not in this translation)
