1For the sons of Core, a psalm of a canticle. The foundations thereof are the holy mountains:

1A Prayer of David. Incline, O Jehovah, Thine ear, Answer me, for I <FI>am<Fi> poor and needy.

1 Let your ears be open to my voice, O Lord, and give me an answer; for I am poor and in need.

2The Lord loveth the gates of Sion above all the tabernacles of Jacob.

2Keep my soul, for I <FI>am<Fi> pious, Save Thy servant--who is trusting to Thee, O Thou, my God.

2Keep my soul, for I am true to you; O my God, give salvation to your servant, whose hope is in you.

3Glorious things are said of thee, O city of God.

3Favour me, O Lord, for to Thee I call all the day.

3Have mercy on me, O Lord; for my cry goes up to you all the day.

4I will be mindful of Rahab and of Babylon knowing me. Behold the foreigners, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians, these were there.

4Rejoice the soul of Thy servant, For unto Thee, O Lord, my soul I lift up.

4Make glad the soul of your servant; for it is lifted up to you, O Lord.

5Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? and the Highest himself hath founded her.

5For Thou, Lord, <FI>art<Fi> good and forgiving. And abundant in kindness to all calling Thee.

5You are good, O Lord, and full of forgiveness; your mercy is great to all who make their cry to you.

6The Lord shall tell in his writings of peoples and of princes, of them that have been in her.

6Hear, O Jehovah, my prayer, And attend to the voice of my supplications.

6O Lord, give ear to my prayer; and take note of the sound of my requests.

7The dwelling in thee is as it were of all rejoicing.

7In a day of my distress I call Thee, For Thou dost answer me.

7In the day of my trouble I send up my cry to you; for you will give me an answer.

8There is none like Thee among the gods, O Lord, And like Thy works there are none.

8There is no god like you, O Lord; there are no works like your works.

9All nations that Thou hast made Come and bow themselves before Thee, O Lord, And give honour to Thy name.

9Let all the nations whom you have made come and give worship to you, O Lord, giving glory to your name.

10For you are great, and do great works of wonder; you only are God.

11Make your way clear to me, O Lord; I will go on my way in your faith: let my heart be glad in the fear of your name.

13For your mercy to me is great; you have taken my soul up from the deep places of the underworld.

14O God, the proud have risen up against me, And a company of the terrible sought my soul, And have not placed Thee before them,

14O God, men of pride have come up against me, and the army of violent men would take my life; they have not put you before them.

15But you, O Lord, are a God full of pity and forgiveness, slow to get angry, great in mercy and wisdom.

16Look unto me, and favour me, Give Thy strength to Thy servant, And give salvation to a son of Thine handmaid.

16O be turned to me and have mercy on me: give your strength to your servant, and your salvation to the son of her who is your servant.

17Do with me a sign for good, And those hating me see and are ashamed, For Thou, O Jehovah, hast helped me, Yea, Thou hast comforted me!

17Give me a sign for good; so that my haters may see it and be shamed; because you, Lord, have been my help and comfort.
