1 Incline thine ear, Jehovah, answer me; for I am afflicted and needy.
1For the sons of Core, a psalm of a canticle. The foundations thereof are the holy mountains:
1 Let your ears be open to my voice, O Lord, and give me an answer; for I am poor and in need.
2 Keep my soul, for I amgodly; O thou myGod, save thy servant who confideth in thee.
2The Lord loveth the gates of Sion above all the tabernacles of Jacob.
2Keep my soul, for I am true to you; O my God, give salvation to your servant, whose hope is in you.
3 Be gracious unto me, O Lord; for unto thee do I call all the day.
3Glorious things are said of thee, O city of God.
3Have mercy on me, O Lord; for my cry goes up to you all the day.
4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant; for unto thee, Lord, do I lift up my soul.
4I will be mindful of Rahab and of Babylon knowing me. Behold the foreigners, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians, these were there.
4Make glad the soul of your servant; for it is lifted up to you, O Lord.
5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and art of great loving-kindness unto all that call upon thee.
5Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? and the Highest himself hath founded her.
5You are good, O Lord, and full of forgiveness; your mercy is great to all who make their cry to you.
6 Give ear, O Jehovah, unto my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications.
6The Lord shall tell in his writings of peoples and of princes, of them that have been in her.
6O Lord, give ear to my prayer; and take note of the sound of my requests.
7 In the day of my distress I will call upon thee, for thou wilt answer me.
7The dwelling in thee is as it were of all rejoicing.
7In the day of my trouble I send up my cry to you; for you will give me an answer.
8 Among thegods there is none like unto thee, Lord, and there is nothing like unto thy works.
8(not in this translation)
8There is no god like you, O Lord; there are no works like your works.
9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord, and shall glorify thy name.
9(not in this translation)
9Let all the nations whom you have made come and give worship to you, O Lord, giving glory to your name.
10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou artGod, thou alone.
10(not in this translation)
10For you are great, and do great works of wonder; you only are God.
11 Teach me thy way, Jehovah; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
11(not in this translation)
11Make your way clear to me, O Lord; I will go on my way in your faith: let my heart be glad in the fear of your name.
12 I will praise thee, O Lord myGod, with my whole heart; and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
12(not in this translation)
12I will give you praise, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will give glory to your name for ever.
13 For great is thy loving-kindness toward me, and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.
13(not in this translation)
13For your mercy to me is great; you have taken my soul up from the deep places of the underworld.
14 OGod, the proud are risen against me, and the assembly of the violent seek after my soul, and they have not set thee before them.
14(not in this translation)
14O God, men of pride have come up against me, and the army of violent men would take my life; they have not put you before them.
15 But thou, Lord, art aGod merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in goodness and truth.
15(not in this translation)
15But you, O Lord, are a God full of pity and forgiveness, slow to get angry, great in mercy and wisdom.
