1A prayer for David himself. Incline thy ear, O Lord, and hear me: for I am needy and poor.
1To the Overseer. --By sons of Korah. A Psalm. Thou hast accepted, O Jehovah, Thy land, Thou hast turned <FI>to<Fi> the captivity of Jacob.
1Jehovah, thou hast been favorable unto thy land; Thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.
2Preserve my soul, for I am holy: save thy servant, O my God, that trusteth in thee.
2Thou hast borne away the iniquity of Thy people, Thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
2Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; Thou hast covered all their sin. [Selah
3Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I have cried to thee all the day.
3Thou hast gathered up all Thy wrath, Thou hast turned back from the fierceness of Thine anger.
3Thou hast taken away all thy wrath; Thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.
4Give joy to the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O Lord, I have lifted up my soul.
4Turn back <FI>to<Fi> us, O God of our salvation, And make void Thine anger with us.
4Turn us, O God of our salvation, And cause thine indignation toward us to cease.
5For thou, O Lord, art sweet and mild: and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon thee.
5To the age art Thou angry against us? Dost Thou draw out Thine anger To generation and generation?
5Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
6Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer: and attend to the voice of my petition.
6Dost Thou not turn back? Thou revivest us, And Thy people do rejoice in Thee.
6Wilt thou not quicken us again, That thy people may rejoice in thee?
7I have called upon thee in the day of my trouble: because thou hast heard me.
7Show us, O Jehovah, thy kindness, And Thy salvation Thou dost give to us.
7Show us thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, And grant us thy salvation.
8There is none among the gods like unto thee, O Lord: and there is none according to thy works.
8I hear what God Jehovah speaketh, For He speaketh peace unto His people, And unto His saints, and they turn not back to folly.
8I will hear what God Jehovah will speak; For he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: But let them not turn again to folly.
9All the nations thou hast made shall come and adore before thee, O Lord: and they shall glorify thy name.
9Only, near to those fearing Him <FI>is<Fi> His salvation, That honour may dwell in our land.
9Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, That glory may dwell in our land.
10For thou art great and dost wonderful things: thou art God alone.
10Kindness and truth have met, Righteousness and peace have kissed,
10Mercy and truth are met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11Conduct me, O Lord, in thy way, and I will walk in thy truth: let my heart rejoice that it may fear thy name.
11Truth from the earth springeth up, And righteousness from heaven looketh out,
11Truth springeth out of the earth; And righteousness hath looked down from heaven.
12I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever:
12Jehovah also giveth that which is good, And our land doth give its increase.
12Yea, Jehovah will give that which is good; And our land shall yield its increase.
13For thy mercy is great towards me: and thou hast delivered my soul out of the lower hell.
13Righteousness before Him goeth, And maketh His footsteps for a way!
13Righteousness shall go before him, And shall make his footsteps a way to walk in.
14O God, the wicked are risen up against me, and the assembly of the mighty have sought my soul: and they have not set thee before their eyes.
