1 Lord, you were good to your land: changing the fate of Jacob.
1 Thou hast been favourable, Jehovah, unto thy land; thou hast turned the captivity of Jacob:
1A prayer for David himself. Incline thy ear, O Lord, and hear me: for I am needy and poor.
2The wrongdoing of your people had forgiveness; all their sin had been covered. (Selah.)
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
2Preserve my soul, for I am holy: save thy servant, O my God, that trusteth in thee.
3You were no longer angry: you were turned from the heat of your wrath.
3 Thou hast withdrawn all thy wrath; thou hast turned from the fierceness of thine anger.
3Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I have cried to thee all the day.
4Come back to us, O God of our salvation, and be angry with us no longer.
4 Bring us back, OGod of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.
4Give joy to the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O Lord, I have lifted up my soul.
5Will you go on being angry with us for ever? will you keep your wrath against us through all the long generations?
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger from generation to generation?
5For thou, O Lord, art sweet and mild: and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon thee.
6Will you not give us life again, so that your people may be glad in you?
6 Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?
6Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer: and attend to the voice of my petition.
7Let us see your mercy, O Lord, and give us your salvation.
7 Shew us thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, and grant us thy salvation.
7I have called upon thee in the day of my trouble: because thou hast heard me.
8I will give ear to the voice of the Lord; for he will say words of peace to his people and to his saints; but let them not go back to their foolish ways.
8 I will hear whatGod, Jehovah, will speak; for he will speak peace unto his people, and to hisgodly ones: but let them not turn again to folly.
8There is none among the gods like unto thee, O Lord: and there is none according to thy works.
9Truly, his salvation is near to his worshippers; so that glory may be in our land.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
9All the nations thou hast made shall come and adore before thee, O Lord: and they shall glorify thy name.
10Mercy and faith have come together; righteousness and peace have given one another a kiss.
10 Loving-kindness and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other:
10For thou art great and dost wonderful things: thou art God alone.
11Faith comes up from the earth like a plant; righteousness is looking down from heaven.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens.
11Conduct me, O Lord, in thy way, and I will walk in thy truth: let my heart rejoice that it may fear thy name.
12The Lord will give what is good; and our land will give its increase.
12 Jehovah also will give what is good, and our land shall yield its increase.
12I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever:
13Righteousness will go before him, making a way for his footsteps.
13 Righteousness shall go before him, and shall set his footsteps on the way.
13For thy mercy is great towards me: and thou hast delivered my soul out of the lower hell.

14O God, the wicked are risen up against me, and the assembly of the mighty have sought my soul: and they have not set thee before their eyes.

15And thou, O Lord, art a God of compassion, and merciful, patient, and of much mercy, and true.
