1To the Overseer. --`On the Gittith By sons of Korah.' --A Psalm. How beloved Thy tabernacles, Jehovah of Hosts!

1Unto the end, for the sons of Core, a psalm.

2My soul desired, yea, it hath also been consumed, For the courts of Jehovah, My heart and my flesh cry aloud unto the living God,

2Lord, thou hast blessed thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob.

3(Even a sparrow hath found a house, And a swallow a nest for herself, Where she hath placed her brood,) Thine altars, O Jehovah of Hosts, My king and my God.

3Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people: thou hast covered all their sins.

4O the happiness of those inhabiting Thy house, Yet do they praise Thee. Selah.

4Thou hast mitigated all thy anger: thou hast turned away from the wrath of thy indignation.

5O the happiness of a man whose strength is in Thee, Highways <FI>are<Fi> in their heart.

5Convert us, O God our saviour: and turn off thy anger from us.

6Those passing through a valley of weeping, A fountain do make it, Blessings also cover the director.

6Wilt thou be angry with us for ever: or wilt thou extend thy wrath from generation to generation?

7They go from strength unto strength, He appeareth unto God in Zion.

7Thou wilt turn, O God, and bring us to life: and thy people shall rejoice in thee.

8O Jehovah, God of Hosts, hear my prayer, Give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

8Shew us, O Lord, thy mercy; and grant us thy salvation.

9Our shield, see, O God, And behold the face of Thine anointed,

9I will hear what the Lord God will speak in me: for he will speak peace unto his people: And unto his saints: and unto them that are converted to the heart.

10For good <FI>is<Fi> a day in Thy courts, O Teacher! I have chosen rather to be at the threshold, In the house of my God, Than to dwell in tents of wickedness.

10Surely his salvation is near to them that fear him : that glory may dwell in our land.

11For a sun and a shield <FI>is<Fi> Jehovah God, Grace and honour doth Jehovah give. He withholdeth not good To those walking in uprightness.

11Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed.

12Jehovah of Hosts! O the happiness of a man trusting in Thee.

12Truth is sprung out of the earth: and justice hath looked down from heaven.
