1In thee, Jehovah, do I trust: let me never be ashamed.

1In Thee, O Jehovah, I have trusted, Let me not be ashamed to the age.

1A psalm on Solomon.

2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and rescue me; incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

2In Thy righteousness Thou dost deliver me, And dost cause me to escape, Incline unto me Thine ear, and save me.

2Give to the king thy judgment, O God, and to the king's son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment.

3 Be to me a rock of habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

3Be to me for a rock--a habitation, To go in continually, Thou hast given command to save me, For my rock and my bulwark <FI>art<Fi> Thou.

3Let the mountains receive peace for the people: and the hills justice.

4 MyGod, rescue me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

4O my God, cause me to escape From the hand of the wicked, From the hand of the perverse and violent.

4He shall judge the poor of the people, and he shall save the children of the poor: and he shall humble the oppressor.

5 For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah, my confidence from my youth.

5For Thou <FI>art<Fi> my hope, O Lord Jehovah, My trust from my youth.

5And he shall continue with the sun and before the moon, throughout all generations.

6 On thee have I been stayed from the womb; from the bowels of my mother thou didst draw me forth: my praise shall be continually of thee.

6By Thee I have been supported from the womb, From my mother's bowels Thou dost cut me out, In Thee <FI>is<Fi> my praise continually.

6He shall come down like rain upon the fleece; and as showers falling gently upon the earth.

7 I have been as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

7As a wonder I have been to many, And Thou <FI>art<Fi> my strong refuge.

7In his days shall justice spring up, and abundance of peace, till the moon be taken away.

8 My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, with thy glory, all the day.

8Filled is my mouth <FI>with<Fi> Thy praise, All the day <FI>with<Fi> Thy beauty.

8And he shall rule from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

9Cast me not off at the time of old age, According to the consumption of my power forsake me not.

9Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down: and his enemies shall lick the ground.

10 For mine enemies speak against me, and they that watch for my soul consult together,

10For mine enemies have spoken against me, And those watching my soul have taken counsel together,

10The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts:

11 Saying,God hath forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is none to deliver.

11Saying, `God hath forsaken him, Pursue and catch him, for there is no deliverer.'

11And all kings of the earth shall adore him: all nations shall serve him.

12 OGod, be not far from me; myGod, hasten to my help.

12O God, be not far from me, O my God, for my help make haste.

12For he shall deliver the poor from the mighty: and the needy that had no helper.

13 Let them be ashamed, let them be consumed, that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

13They are ashamed, they are consumed, Who are opposing my soul, They are covered <FI>with<Fi> reproach and blushing, Who are seeking my evil,

13He shall spare the poor and needy: and he shall save the souls of the poor.

14 But as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise thee yet more and more.

14And I continually do wait with hope, And have added unto all Thy praise.

14He shall redeem their souls from usuries and iniquity: and their names shall be honourable in his sight.

15 My mouth shall declare thy righteousness, [and] thy salvation all the day: for I know not the numbers [thereof].

15My mouth recounteth Thy righteousness, All the day Thy salvation, For I have not known the numbers.

15And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, for him they shall always adore: they shall bless him all the day.

16 I will go in the might of the Lord Jehovah; I will recall thy righteousness, thine alone.

16I come in the might of the Lord Jehovah, I mention Thy righteousness--Thine only.

16And there shall be a firmament on the earth on the tops of mountains, above Libanus shall the fruit thereof be exalted: and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.

17 OGod, thou hast taught me from my youth, and hitherto have I proclaimed thy marvellous works:

17God, Thou hast taught me from my youth, And hitherto I declare Thy wonders.

17Let his name be blessed for evermore: his name continueth before the sun. And in him shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed: all nations shall magnify him.

18 Now also, when I am old and greyheaded, OGod, forsake me not, until I have proclaimed thine arm unto [this] generation, thy might to every one that is to come.

18And also unto old age and grey hairs, O God, forsake me not, Till I declare Thy strength to a generation, To every one that cometh Thy might.

18Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone doth wonderful things.

19 And thy righteousness, OGod, reacheth on high, thou who hast done great things: OGod, who is like unto thee?

19And Thy righteousness, O God, <FI>is<Fi> unto the heights, Because Thou hast done great things, O God, who <FI>is<Fi> like Thee?

19And blessed be the name of his majesty for ever: and the whole earth shall be filled with his majesty. So be it. So be it.

20 Thou, who hast shewn us many and sore troubles, wilt revive us again, and wilt bring us up again from the depths of the earth;

20Because Thou hast showed me many and sad distresses, Thou turnest back--Thou revivest me, And from the depths of the earth, Thou turnest back--Thou bringest me up.

20The praises of David, the son of Jesse, are ended.

21 Thou wilt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

21Thou dost increase my greatness, And Thou surroundest--Thou comfortest me,
